[2.5] Nuros Harp Raider Brainfreeze Build (Icy Icyle Finger of Death)

Hey everyone, this is my first build thread, so be gentle with me. Critic and tips very welcome. English is not my native language, so if you find mistakes, just send me a pm.
First: Why Nuros, why freeze? I had the luck of getting a 6s5l nuros pretty easy, so i thought, why not do a build around it? I saw some builds already, but i like mine, since it also includes Breach items. I really wanted to make a freeze build around Southbound for a while, got stuck with a dual Dyadus try last league, gave up at least. But this one feels really really good.
The Gear
Of course, this is the build enabling weapon.
A Perfect Form is used to get higher evasion ratings. Also because of the weird skilltree it gives us Phase Acrobatics without the need to go there in the tree. Southbound is the 2nd build enabling item. It enables us to always trigger Herald of Ice and gives a nice 16% boost to maximum life 2nd Breach item used, pretty obvious, always 60%inc damage up and chance to freeze. This one might be exchangable, as well as Asphyxias gives us even more freeze, which is a nice to have. I tried working around Drillneck, but we just dont get enough pierce from the tree. For rings look for WED, added cold, life and resist. Same goes for belt.
Gem Setup
As main skill we use Ice Shot+ Chain + LMP/GMP + WED + Added cold + Ice bite This gives us max frenzy charges within seconds. Single target: i played around a few ones, i settled at good old blast rain + wed + slower proj + added cold + hypothermia 6th link is free to choose, can be ice bite too. I chose Hypothermia here because it is suited for bosses, which are less long freezed, so the more dmg against chilled works nice here. As Curse supplier i use HoI+CoH+Warlords Mark for Leeching and Endurance charges. I got my blink arrow in there too, just for leeching against bosses. Also: ice golem, arctic armor, purity of elements (might be exchanging this to ice) and an empower just for fun. if i get my hands on a lvl 21 arctic armor this will be a great defense, and because of perfect form its: free! CWDT is pcoc+ice spear+vortex. Spear for generating power charges occasionally and vortex for bosses that just dont want to get freezed. Since Vortex is a degen we can kill them without freezing

This thing looks pretty weird, i know, but we get the best cold dmg notes everywhere. There might be a way to get the "chilled after frozen" node, but whatever. Cold Steel is used at Ranger Jewel slot, this might look familar. Ascendancy: As im writing this i only got normal lab, but i will get the raider ascendancy with both frenzy and phasing nodes. 2nd Frenzy node at uber lab, if i will ever get there. ;) Bandits: 40 life, Skillpoint, Frenzy Charge I know there could be done more around the perfect form, but i still have vacant jewel slots and also more life. Currently i am lvl 71 at 3,8k life. Screenshots:  This is the defensive site with 3 endurance charges and a cold res flask up. 81% lets us deal with reflect somehow, still difficult but doable. Charges are up pretty fast with warlords mark. We will get more movement speed with the raider passives. Offense:  This might seem a bit low atm, but keep in mind that these are lvl 16-17 gems and theres a 17% cold penetration. I will get another dmg jewel too. The little bit of fire dmg makes sure we at least kill mobs when we crit, because 1 dmg of burning is enough at 1hp that we dont have to freeze the enemies. 122% inc Freeze duration is pretty nice too. I will continue this as i lvl with updates at lvls 80, 85 and 90. Hope i get so far. Please dont hesitate to ask me about other information on the build. A neat idea, a few suggestions:
1) Go crit; this increases your chance to freeze and ups your damage substantially. It also synergizes nicely with bows, which have a lot of good crit nodes. If you take the leech nodes near duelist you can also drop warlords mark and replace with assassin's mark. It works great for both AOE and single target, and now you have more gem slots to play with. For instance, you could use: TS - GMP - WED - Added Cold - Cold Pen - Pierce Pierce is useful for TS as it improves the AOE clear and adds another more multiplier. There are other options here too... it's somewhat a matter of taste. 3) Since your dmg is cold, I would strongly suggest adding cold pen to your dmg skill gem links. I have been wanting a ice shot build that can actually perform for so long. Could you please post some videos or offer some insight on how this build is doing with end game content with guardians and t15 and such. Thanks!

For those who want Updates on this, ill maybe try again in 3.0
Lets see how it works out there, with the old build, guardians were a pain, but it got buffed right after the league ended, so who knows.. Ill keep you updated |
