Are you sure your CPU is not the issue? I am using a HD 7870 (R9 270 called now) quite fine at 60 fps with the occasional dip to 40 in extreme situations (high packsize + beyond).

Bought it used for 50 euros from someone on ebays second hand platform.

If you want to invest more it's probably best to switch to nvidia and get a GTX 1050 (150 euros I think?).

I'd swap to nvidia honestly.

Sigh. The issue with PoE is not the hardware, it's the software. The move to DX11 saw my frame rates double and even triple in instances of heavy particle effects. There is stil notable lag in some places and maps, but the issue is with GGG not optimizing their game well enough and not leveraging new technology (well new for them).

It's like buying a Ferrari for the city. What good is a 300 kph car when you can't exceed 50? You can run this game just fine with a mid weight card. Anything better and you're just wasting resources as PoE fails to make use of the advanced tech anyway. It's 2016 and they just started supporting multi-core, DX11 and still working towards 64bit. This all on top of a deprecated and aging game engine built in-house.

So no, no GPU is going to be able to run this game without problems.
Deliver pain exquisite

AMD 390 runs poe dx11 client superb.
card i have now only runs about 30-46 fps....1gb mem.. so im figuring that this card with 4gb should run much smoother imo running Dell xps 8300 bought back in 2014 dont have money for a newer computer but can get a better graphics card for it... thx for the help

There seems to be a wide variety of possible configurations called "dell xps 8300", could you go into detail what specific configuration you have?

it's mostly your cpu that cant handle the game.
Contact support@grindinggear.com to report issues relating to the game or forum. Thanks!
All depends on the rest of the configuration

Well, that GPU is old but not obsolete. Technically it's a rebrand of 5 year old card, but it should be sufficient to run PoE at reasonable FPS. It supports DX11 so it might be a very good pick if you can get it for like 25-30$

These days the market should be overflown with old HW that people are trying to flip while getting new ones. Prices usually hit the botton like 2 weeks after Xmass since people become desperate and you can get decent GPU for margin than today.

If you can get decent deal, R7 240 should deliver in DX11.
