Can someone explain the price difference in Trade Chat and Poe.Trade?

Hey guys

As title suggests, can someone please explain to a new player who started 2 weeks ago, what the price difference is I see on Trade Chat and Poe.Trade?
I've seen items with price tags of 1 ex but if you go on poe.trade you can get most of the stuff waaaay cheaper than 1 ex.
I've seen items like Saffell's Frame Shield going for 15c in trade chat but maybe 1 fuse orb or so at poe.trade.

I really don't understand the pricing so far in game, and I've been selling stuff according to prices that I've found on poe.trade.

Hope someone can explain this to me.

Trade chat is a bunch of douchebags alright they want to scam they need to scam you hence why the prices there are fucking stupid like you got people going like this

so in this case here yeah you price shit based on poe.trade that's it.

The pricing is whatever you can get the item for and you nailed it on the head. In trade chat people sell items (generally) WAAAAY overpriced taking advantage of users who don't know any better. It is possible to find some ok deals on currency exchange there though. Generally stick to poe.trade though.

Sure, I'll explain. People are abusing the fact that newer players dont know the relative value of some orbs and items. Many newer players don't even know poe.trade exists. Yes these people are dbags.

Turn off Trade chat. End of story.

Ppl sell way overpriced and buy way underpriced. Just use poe.trade.

Keep also in mind that usually the lowest prices on poe.trade are also some sort of scam, those people are likely not willing to sell their items at the listed price (but want to buy it at low price) and do so in order to influence a sale and/or manipulate market - e.g.they'll go like "you listed your item at 5c but I saw one on poe.trade for 3c, so that's the price..."

So use both trade chat and poe.trade with caution ;-)

trade chat = scam world ...like a town market ...poe trade is more like a reference sales place.

ignore scam spam in trade chat, and u can buy item to a best price in trade chat. Trade chat let fast trade, peotrade is for search a specfiic item.

on a side note: Prices for a specific items can vary a lot, depending on the stats on them.
