I like the idea of unique items (effectively what this is) which can still roll magic affixes. Basically it lets you customise your unique a bit. Cool idea.
I think enormous swords would look a little odd in PoE though. The marauder would finally have a weapon that wasn't too small for him. ;) Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:
