Lab - A way everyone wins
I know I said no more posts but I stopped in with an idea for lab after looking at ATLAS.
Keep the lab completely as it is. Add 4 new unique maps to the atlas called The Runner's Fire/Cold/Lightning/Chaos Mazes. One of these are connected to each Tier 1 map so they are straightforward to drop. Each of these mazes is a version of the lab with an elemental focus of traps, monsters ,ect. Each of these special labs has 6 portals and if you die you start at the last checkpoint you had. Each of these also has a special elemental chest at the end with bonus chance to drop items of that type so fire could drop Oros. Izaro when killed drops an elemental ascendancy orb. This orb can be traded and grants 2 ascendancy points. These orbs still have uses outside of ascendancy as well as each grants 1% to the max resist of the type of the maze. This is limited to the last one you used so no going over 1% max gained on the one type you want. In addition the enchant system in these special labs grant the choice of 3 enchants as well. People who love lab get 4 more labs. People who hate lab can buy ascendancy orbs. 2 bonus chances at the enchant you want. Everyone wins? Toodles back to Grim Dawn. Support the cause. This is a well thought out and put together idea. However the idea isn't a very good idea, no one would be for buying ascendancy points because the game would then become pay to win instead of struggle to win. If you like lab, you run lab. If you don't, you run it to complete it then never go again.

Nop, would be way to easy.
And there is nothing that would make everyone win anyway (imho). Different ways to ascend would need to be more difficult or more time consuming or both. Having an access from t1 map, that would potentially give the 2 last ascendancy points is just plain ridiculous. With this suggestion you'd trivialize Uber Lab, because you now made it a T1 zone.
It's not a very bad idea, but the trial maps would need to be much higher, T12+ at least. This is to make the cost of "ascendany orbs" much higher. With your current suggestion an ascendacy orb would cost 1c at most and ascending would become a parody. Make the unique maps match you character level and since they are unique maps they will not be everywhere and so I do not think the orbs would be 1 chaos. There is a fix for you.
