totems and taunt on hit

hey guys im looking to try my first totem build, using mainly ancestral warchief.

im aware that most 'on hit' effects do get transfered to your totem, but with 'chance to taunt on hit', will the taunted enemy be taunted towards the totem or my character?

also, for those who have made some totem builds before, i was wondering how you maintain mana without the ability to leech. i usually run some auras and reserve a fair bit of my mana and leech to sustain. will i have to keep a bigger mana pool?

edit: im looking specifically at the conqueror and worthy foe ascendancy nodes for champion. also, will I have taunted an enemy recently if my totem does? or will my totem receive the 6% reduced damage taken? there are a few interactions with these nodes and totems if someone could go elaborate please

Yes, taunt on hit transfers to the totem and enemies attack it instead of you, tested it on both scion and champion.

If you're using a Hierophant mana sustain is piss-easy, he has hefty mana bonuses and half skill cost, if you go for MoM you will want a decent amount of free mana and regen, but you're probably running a Chieftain. Another option for burst mana spending is eldritch battery but that's probably too far.

That said, ancestral warchief is a very cheap totem so no special measures will be needed, just get a bit of mana and regen on jewelry :)
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
