Remove myself from other people's friend lists?
Hi! I've got some problems with people on my friend list. There a fair bit of new player who I helped them. Things is they always pm me whenever I'm online or they are online, which annoys me sometimes. If there is a way for them not seeing me at all (removing/ appearing offline) Thank you :(

I don't think you can mess with other player's friends lists but you can /ignore them, i.e. enter /ignore <character_name> which puts the entire account on your ignore list so you won't receive messages from them anymore.
Exit, pursued by a Plummeting Ursa.

" I've always wondered what the other side of this looks like. The people I've /ignored up to now are actually terrible human beings that I wouldn't mind just getting a hollow no-response from me if they ever tried to message me. But I wouldn't want to do that to noobs. So, my question is: if you /ignore someone, will you still show up as online to them, and simply not receive their messages? Or will it look as if you are either never online or don't exist to that person, and if they message you they will get a "not online" or "does not exist" message? Because if the latter, I think I might start using /ignore more generously. But if the former I still want noobs to be able to ask me questions (though it sounds like I get fewer noobs doing this than greendragon--I must just be less helpful :P) Last edited by codetaku#0468 on May 31, 2016, 10:17:38 AM

This game needs a proper moral system.
" It gives you a simple message, like "X is ignoring you." | |
Which is probably exactly what the OP doesn't want.
I think he's more interested in a "hidden" or "invisible" setting, or maybe even "show online only to confirmed friends". Zaanus:
Global chat: Mechanics for A work one way, B for another, C for a third but also with A, B uses C but not A, and D uses A&B but not C ___ Isn't a "no" better than an ignore? |
" Wow, that's harsh. Definitely not ignoring noobs then. |
" Yea, that's pretty harsh if that's what happens. It would be much better to appear offline, or just not send a response. I've never used it, but would dnd be better? Can't you write your own message with dnd? |

Dnd will make you unavailable for everyone though. Probably not something you want.
My advice, for what it's worth (not knowing the exact situation and all), is to just to politely talk to them, explain the situation. May be a bit awkward for a while, but better in the long run for all parties involved. |
