When Chris says that lab haters are a minority, how right is he?

So what % of people do you think hate or dislike the lab? Just curious. And I realize I don't have definitive proof for my 35% number, but I doubt anyone is going to bet money that I'm way off. 35% is pretty conservative, all things considered. When 90% of the people on the forum seem to hate it, and 90% of the people everyone knows in-game seems to hate it, what else is one to conclude other than - Lots of people hate it?

I DO NOT KNOW, hence I don't pull numbers out of my ass to make a biased point.

And there you go again with your "90%". Please take the time to go through this thread, count up every UNIQUE "pro" user and every unique "con" user. THEN give me some numbers. Are those numbers global? Hell no. And how many unique participants are there in this thread? I'm sure there's not enough people to make something useful out of it.

And to your information: We don't see many threads about "Damn I love those enchantments" or "Damn I like that new unique". People seldom make threads about what they like. They come to the forums to write about what they don't like - often. So a thread QUESTIONING the sincerity of Chris talking about the lab, is a magnet for "haters"

A better discussion would be HOW the lab was integrated in the game - and how poorly it were done from an in-game point of view - lacking in-game leader boards, in-game name-dropping/fame. Maybe a lot of non-forum players don't even know about the leader boards, unique prizes and so on.

But please, share your views, give us your arguments - but please do not drag stupid numbers from the air to back up your arguments.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

It's so damn cute when people guarantee things like this. What are you basing this upon? Forum activity? In game chat? Your number of pubic hairs?

Yes! Based on the number of my pubic hairs I can guarantee that up to 50% or more of POE players dislike the lab.

Spoiler
I actually phrased that so it could not be wrong :P

You may not know how many hairs that is. That's private.

the forum is very representative for the whole player base; also, learn how polling works.
in politics for ex. - you make a poll on a sample of 2k - 3k people and the result of that has an error margin of +,- 3%.
basically, if you'd poll 200 - 300 mill people you'd get roughly the same result.

so i'd expect this poll to be +,-3% of the "real" numbers.

I wish you were understood man, it would make this discussion so much better.

Hahaha, using the most stupid voting system ever created as an example.

whoa dude, whoa. the same type of pooling is done in marketing, sales, entertainment etc.
the premise of pooling the the error margin are the same. few represent more within 3%.
1.2k people are enough for a mill easy, with a confidence margin of 90%.

You haven't read the topic right ?

i read the first post and some of the fainboyism. it would change nothing if i'd read 46 pages because pooling says 4-5 pages are representative enough.

Edit: besides, if you'd looked at the poll since the beginning you'd realize that roughly the same result was true at about ~200 people. it only changed 2-4% after that, when it hit 1200 people.

if you like the lab and other people don't, it doesn't mean that those other people don't like you; so RELAX 'N EAT A PILL!, you're safe. your life still has meaning.
