If only creating a new character wouldn't take so long

I don't really mind it too much but I think we've reached a point where we could ditch cruel already.

Instead of making people run through everything and only ever farming the ledge, docks or dried lake make it so people spend a bit more time in each zone but in return there's no more cruel difficulty.

Playing the game takes time, who'd expect... lol.

What are those topics, wtf. ;S
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.
I can see why some people get discouraged and do not want to re roll and do all that stuff over. When you do someone else's build it can feel like that. Try doing something yourself make something that isn't based on the meta and actually find a fun skill/play style you like. So what if its not Uber viable, In d2 you had to make certain builds to do uber either way it is kind of the same here but with way more flexibility. I really miss that feeling of having a character tuned for specific things (uber/clone hunter for example)

You people wanted d2 successor, you got it and can't stop playing it. slow down enjoy the game. Tired of face rolling everything? Actually play a build that isn't overpowered right now.

Personally I think GGG will be reworking a lot of earlier game content to make it harder/more engaging. So that the leveling process isn't "how fast can I get to maps", but is "is my build even gonna make it to maps?" We have seen what their advanced AI can do with warbands I think they are working on it guys you just gotta be a little patient. (I really miss how hard this game used to be.. I miss you reflect).

With that said I have rarely gotten farther than a t10 map but I enjoy the difficulty more than the face rolling.(not always as a hc player when I rip) I just wish the game would stray away from this you gotta have super fast reflexes approach(the labyrinth). But i cannot really think of a better solution for more engaging gameplay.

And for those saying, "Ah i want to test a build but its so boring to level" jesus christ do you want a button that instantly beats the game for you? I'm sure they could put one in there if you so truly desire you little nambi pambi nancy boy.

We have orbs of regret you should never whine about testing a build.. you should be able to get a good idea by respeccing a guy (even the wrong class yada yada) if it can do what you want it to.

That is no simple task,

At the moment, without farming any area in normal you finish it around level 41

Then cruel takes from level 41 to level 60ish

Merciless from 60 to 68

The clear soltion would be: let normal difficult last unltil level 45 or 48 and merciless from 48 to 68

Those extra levels in normal difficulty would fit perfectly if we had another act, in the game we have now could e possible if we have 2 new zones which togheter grants 8 levels or so, which is not that easy

I think GGG will get rid of cruel when an hypotetical Act5 will be relased and not first...

People normally ask for the parts they don't like to be skipped rather than see how to improve it. PoE a la carte.

Many posts, didn't read.

How about we get the ability to sacrifice our character to Vaal.
- You can sacrifice any character, killing it permanently (like deleting)
- You can re-create your same-named character immediately, with any class
- Your new character begins at level 25 on Act 1 Normal, as long as he was over 25 to begin with
- Any Ascendancy Trials progress you made on your old character are preserved
- (optional) Your soul is corrupted by some random negative mod affecting your character such as: (every 30 seconds the next hit you receive will be a critical strike)

Reasons:
- Faster re-creation of a new character to try out a new build or level with friends
- Preserves Ascendancy progress so you don't have to trial a new character all over again
- Fast clear Act 1 due to higher level, but still gotta do the content, on-par when you hit ~Merveil
- Easy to test out a quick 24-point build idea you have without worrying about losing your character, as you could sacrifice your character again and 'reset'
- Corrupted soul mods... delicious

Just had a thought, posted it here, and I'm gone.

I don't mind playing through the game to level a character

but doing it 3 times for each character gets really repetitive really fast

There's one thing I don't get: if "levelling" is boring, how is mapping not boring? seems the same, imo

You get to test the limits of your build
You can find items that are actually good
You can refine your build

The majority of good/popular/viable builds don't actually start to be either of those until level 60ish.
After some point you start to enjoy the journey getting to Merciless more so than the actual time to do mapping. At least thats the case for me nowadays... Plus Mapping doesn't have Fancy Quests unlike the Main Game Story does to point me where to go...

If you put on your full plate mail, and I throw hundreds of toothpicks at you, you'll basically not feel it.

If someone catapults a whole tree at you, don't expect the Armour to prevent as much of the damage.
