If only creating a new character wouldn't take so long
if your setup starts within the first 30levels, its fine
but when you have for example an Oro build... FML... ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

Well heres my problem, You cant test out a build in normal because basicly everything is fine in normal and cruel well its a little harder but maybe by then you got a few defenses set up and the build still feels like its got a chance and suddenly you hit merciless and wham everything one shots you or rushes you and suddenly the last lets says 12 hours of slow play to get to this point was wasted since theres no way your gonna live long enough to level high enough to wear good enough gear to make a difference.
Im tired of having to spend half a day going through the same old stuff Ive done 100s of times already its not like anything new and exciting is gonna drop in lower levels I can use later anyway. So for 50 coins Id like to buy a reset everything for my level 90 character, resets tree's and bandits and all I gotta do is redo my tree put on new gear and declare which bandits I need. If I dont like how the build works I pay another 5 bucks to reset again. At least this way it would be interesting and I wouldnt have to go through all the leveling hell just to get my character to level 70 or so again where the game becomes fun and playable. Weve already done all the current content, theres nothing good ever going to drop in lower levels we can use at end game so why cant there be a way around all the borish constant pain of having to redo the same content over and over again. GGG Please find a solution because well honestly Im really close to finding a game that understands a players need and how important their time is to them. I wanna play the game not work so I can play it. |

Ive quit twice this league already.
Probably leveled over 10 characters as well. All HC except one lvl 93 in psc that I quit after 10 days of non stop playing. |

a1-4 3 times is a slog, but Lab made me have 1 character this league. Proly gonna go back to D3 after league ends.
Path of Reroll is a slog when it comes to new characters. And there is no real endgame as character progression stops at about 90 after witch only nolifers can spend enough time to grind thru 1kkkk gorges to get to 95+ since red map drops are gated behind t12 bosses dropping t1 crypts. I left D3 cause it was preeeetttyyy bad when it came out. But several patches and an expansion made it preeetyyy good now that I'm looking at it. Oh, also playing Torchlight 2 with Synergies atm, daym, that game got me hooked again, it even has raids.. wuuuut. -Forever Casual-

Skill points are still tied to story progression and quests. That's why we haven't got an adventure mode, I'd wager.
So unless there's a way for them to give us skill points from the story in a different format, I don't see anything changing soon. It does make total sense that once you beat Merciless on your first character, there should be an alternative. But how to do it? If you give out skill points in some adventure mode, what happens when that character, for example, goes to try to play the story with a friend leveling up? Do they get jack shit from the story because they're leveling in adventure mode? You can't let them double-dip, obviously. "We're pilgrims in an unholy land."

The problem with maps and builds getting to final shape at high levels is that the rest of the game is converted to filler. If anything, one should question how to make the leveling experience more meaningful, something that people would play rather than skip (that includes difficulty).
I dislike Cruel too, I'd rather have a single playthrough (if you don't repeat it many times, PoE's story makes for a nice character arc from hobo to god killer) and then free-form leveling. Add a Forsaken Masters questline

Leveling a char from scratch can be very enjoyable once you've practiced the process.
However, doing the trials is just a pain in the arse now. IGN: Arlianth

The lab / trials are making it hard for me to roll characters this league mostly because of how bad CI is in the lab. My plans for this league was to roll a few CI characters at the start but I tested them in the lab on standard and scratched that idea. I even respected my guy in scp to CI recently because he has that stuff done already even though hes technically the wrong class / ascendancy for the build.

" really ? the only reason you can't have ci chars is because a 68 map with extra traps is stopping you ? smh |

I guess you haven't been exiled to Wraeclast very long. Ascendancy and subclasses is the best for blowing the doors off diversity of builds that are endgame viable. I am casual player and with limited playing time I have an endgame build easily in under 1 month. I have never gotten this far this fast before Perandus League with equivalent time in previous leagues. So yes, rolling a new build is mostly drudge work until Merc Act 3 but PoE is Ascendancy is easiest/fastest time to get to endgame of anything GGG has produced.
Let me be clear, I think it's great that the average time limited player can advance a build to endgame in 1 month (or less) so I'm very happy with Ascendancy and subclasses. This gives me more time to try other builds. The elites that used to love to be in the exclusive <1% of players that could do 1 month level 80+ endgame builds (that now do in a few days) probably hate losing their elite status and also with Perandus making top gear accessible to all players without months and months of grinding hate that. GGG is smart to be pleasing the 99% instead of the 1%. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |
