fastest possible movement speed in game
i like to kite the mobs, so i like having stuff that adds to my movement speed.
i was wondering if movement speed has a cap and what would be considered the fastest that a character could move in this game. all information is appreciated. thanks. Last bumped on Mar 17, 2016, 2:33:28 PM

There's no cap, and builds designed solely to do so can reach hundreds of % increased movement speed. However, realistically it's pretty hard for most builds to get anything near that much, just because you have to sacrifice too much. Some right side builds tend to get 50-60% thanks to uniques and a few passives, but that's about it.
If you want lots of movement speed to kite stuff, the easiest way to get it is to aim for as much uptime on a Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline as possible, honestly. In an earlier league, on the account I play on, I ran a character with base +128% move speed that hit +256% with flasks. It's not the fastest out there, I've definitely heard of characters getting 140% and higher, but it was reasonably up there.

Yeah my TS ranger once redone will hit a base of about 110% or so and he can get higher with Queen of the Forest and Rats Nest. For Rangers in general it is easy to achieve this, and when I redo him, it will likely be a champion who gets another permanent 18% increased movespeed. It is just a really good stat to work with ranged EV chars, since it actually works as a nice defense.

I have 80% movement speed with 10 frenzy charges + darkray vectors + restless ward and the raider "Avatar of the slaughter" ascendancy passive. Since I use Frenzy as a single target skill, I always have full frenzy charges.
EDIT: I know it is not as much speed, but I can tell you that those 10 grenzy charges keep your damage up. "Teamwork is OP" -The one and only one Dark_Reaper115 at your service. Last edited by Dark_Reaper115#6846 on Mar 13, 2016, 6:00:59 PM

Hey,
I like my rangers to run very fast. From what i remember from old tests and more recents changes : -queen of the forest (25% reduced movement speed but +1% increased movement speed by 450 evasion) -grace / haste / vaal for base movement speed and bonus to evasion for queen (consider using specific items with +X to aura/vaal) -combo of slaks : before i used get surgeon's quicksilver flask of reflexes (the evasion boost grants more maximum speed with Queen) and suregon's jade flask of adrenaline. Now you should look for jade+stibnite+quicksilver, alchemist's prefixe for increased effect and have to check what suffixes grants the most between adrenaline and reflexes -Unique belt : The Retch from the previous Talisman league (require 2 talisman league only unique belt) : 15% increased movement speed while using flask -getting onslaugh (flasks, pasives) : +20% increased movement speed -Pathfinder Ascendancy class : Nature's Adrenaline for +15% movement speed while using flask + effect of flask -raider ascendancy class : bonus to onslaught, movement speed ? -the new unique Perandus boots with +50% movement speed or the older one +30% but +20% while full ES -corruptions that grants movement speed / level to gem/vaal gems You'll have to check/test what grants more speed between evasion and movement speed nodes and flask effects nodes and frenzy nodes... Check out this video from Ghudda:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox720D8ulJQ He builds a movement speed character very similar to what CaMarchePas described above. With all cool downs and flasks hit, he has 567% increased movement speed (go to about the 9 minute mark to see this). This was built on an old version of the passive tree, but I imagine something similar should still be possible. Legacy SC IGN: Octora
Standard SC IGN: Octyte |

" There is some truth to this but in general it is hard to ever reach this threshold whilst still maintaining good clear speed and survive. If it is possible, I'd certainly like to see it. IGN: Arlianth

" you can easily get to 150 - 200% ms and control you character pretty well. but after that point things get a bit nutty. I would think a more valuable thing to do is to get your passive movement speed as high as possible so that you dont need flasks at all. if you can manage perpetual 100% ms independent of flasks. then you have almost no need for any movement skill besides getting over obstructions |
