An idea about Ascendancy and the dreaded Labyrinth
Can we have a shortcut to Izaro himself? Skipping the trap nonsense and all that? Just a two-way room, one door leading to the trap filled labyrinth, and the other one leading to the glorious emperor? Give him some buffs, some of his current buffs, if you fail to activate them during the 3 stages, or something, still keeping the "one try-one go" thing. Say, you have to re-do the trials if you fail to kill him, just to give you an example. That way, the trials are more utilised too, and you do encounter the traps!
I like boss fights in the game. I defeated Normal and Cruel Malachai pre-nerf. I died, it was insane, but I did it, and to this day, I'm proud when I have a character killing Malachai, regardless of build and gear. Vaal Oversoul is my all time favourite boss, Dominus first phase is a close second. I have to observe the fight, and I love that. What I don't like though, is those traps. Just no. Simply no. I can't say why, but I hate the idea, I really do hate it. Let me just have a go at Izaro, and be done with it. And players who like the lab, can still do it, do everything we have access to right now, and have a possibly better time at Izaro, if they do succeed to disarm his buffs. Fair trade? I kind of feel yes; I'd rather have a tanky and mean boss, than a spike trap randomly coupled with a dart trap, slowing me down and just simply killing me right before the 3rd boss room. Another idea that just came to me, is that the trap spawns are toned down, and the labyrinth is filled with puzzles. I liked that one puzzle, where I had to click levers in a certain order to unlock a door. Maybe have the lab as like that? The puzzles being more complicated, in some way or the other? I don't know. But the trap-business honestly kills my desire to play this lovely game anymore. Last bumped on Mar 11, 2016, 3:54:24 PM
