SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]

I am very excited about 2.3 and prophecy league except for the inclusion of a 4th lab and 2 more Ascendancy points behind it. I don't mind the harder traps and such but I worry about how much harder Izaro will hit compared to the merc lab. I also hope 2.3 will improve performance of certain mechanics like the fire floors that really drop my framerate to slideshow.

I don't even know why i bother writing anymore but here goes nothing:
Lab is frogger.
Lab is like frogger.
Which of those did people say?

Further explanation as to why people think Lab is like frogger:
It resembles that gameplay.

When i asked some other people in game they told me it was like sonic, remove armor and shield, get boots with max ms, quicksilver of adrenaline, run as fast as possible and just ignore everything. Vroom vroom mothafucka etc. I personally see it as mario or mario kart.

Now, since this was another "not the right word" argument, tell your family to hook you up with some prescriptions por favor.

Also, i am really sorry if you thought i insulted you by saying you don't understand english but if i did, then i said the same thing about myself in the very next sentence. So by your logic i insulted myself.
Doesn't make much sense unless i am the most epic of trolls that can read you like an open book or something.

Now Scrotie is love, Scrotie is life. Scrotie makes some great posts and some great points (even in this thread you are pretty much on point in some things you say). We all now that, but Scrotie you sometimes are a troll as well. The numerous times you said "Just git good" proves it. I am not saying this to indicate that you're wrong or anything. It was clear to me, from a previous argument we had, that you do not play that much anymore and i just want to say that you might not understand what the players are faced with in game.
I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.

Second, it's of prime importance that a game designer keep in mind which choices are optimal, as these will be chosen by more and more players, especially as time goes on. (The word "mandatory" is commonly used, but it's not a good word to describe what's going on.) For example, if you start with a "loot tension" concept and then decide to make that feature optional, with an opt-out toggle in the Options menu, the result is going to be that virtually no one uses it and assembling a Short Allocation party is nigh-impossible. This is an entirely separate issue than fun; players will tend towards the most rewarding behaviors regardless of how boring or even painful you make them. Therefore, wherever someone says they want to make content or features "optional" what they're really saying is: I want the vast majority of players to not experience this.

Basically, if Ascendancy points weren't tied to the Lab, only competitive Lab racers (and a couple odd ducks) would ever go there, because 100% of the remaining rewards would be based on running the Lab faster than others (if you're not competitively fast, it's better to trade for enchantments than run Lab). The casual "one time" Lab experience would become a thing of the past.

There's optional and there's mandatory and there is expected. If Ascendancy points are removed from Lab, you can expect virtually no one to go there. For example, without consulting the wiki, can you even tell me what the unique boss of Dread Thicket is, what unique mechanics it has, if it is a fun fight or not? Most players can't; most players have never been.

So, what basically it comes down to, and how you look at this things are, if there is a new optional way of getting the point it will be easier so people will only do that way, even if they find lab fun?

So, if the new optional way of getting points, is harder to get (but its the same gameplay like other parts of POE, not platform bullshit), takes more time, and is not rewording (and it can even cost currency that you need to pay to get to it), compared to normal lab, than it would be OK to have in game by your standards? Because than, the only people that would try to get the new optional point would be people that hate trap gameplay, and are even ready to try get the point less viable/optimal way, but more fun way for them? Because I would have no problems with that. Would you?

That would be wonderful as far as I'm concerned as well. There are others (I don't put ScrotieMcB into this category.) that have stated they would be against this. Their position is that doing anything to appease worthless whiners and complainers would just be setting a bad precedence. That it would be far better to get rid of worthless whiners and complainers rather than appeasing them, keeping them around and thereby encouraging and creating more in the next release.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

"maybe that is something we will do in the future"

Chris on the podcast today regarding awarding ascendancy points.

There is your answer OP.

But he also said something about making changes to where everyone is just "ok with it" isn't something they want either.

Nice, goddamn. A good troll will make themselves look really stupid in order to annoy the other person. That's why it's not an easy thing to do and why I respect a good troll; it requires a thorough commitment. It has little to do with reading a person like an open book, instead just typing/saying the dumbest shit possible and COMMITTING! And this is the first time I'm actually annoyed in an under-the-skin sorta way. Very well played.

I mean, I said in the other thread, there's no way a person as intelligent as yourself could possibly say some of the dumb stuff you have, especially this last post. BUT EVEN KNOWING THAT I'm still annoyed. So again, hat's off.

So no changes in this expansion 9as expected). But maybe in future. So the highest chance for a change is the next expansion in september, when they move their focus away from the labyrinth. So people keep up the fighting so there is a higher chance of it happening.
