GGG Read this: Labyrinth Advice from a Loyal Player

I've logged about 1000 hours on POE and 12 years on Diablo 2. I'm no stranger to this kind of game, yet even I fail to cope with this labyrinth. Please take the time to read this threads, as this is a letter and not a complaint. It is from the heart that amidst endless threads of vented anger and silliness, I hope my thread here stands out to you, GGG.

So I've done the Lab on merciless 105 times thereabout (I'm certain you have an account log record or something to prove this) and I'm receiving duplicate enchants. For example, I want an enchantment for Dual Strike, Herald of Ash, Hatred, Immortal Call, or Arctic Armor yet after 105 runs I haven't earned any of these. Instead, I've seen Glacial Cascade 4x, mirror arrow 6x, minion APS 3x and so on. With all the effort I've placed into my character to become elite and even being officially endorsed on the marauder builds list as the best dual striker build ever made Atziri tankable, I've proven my grit in this game but I'm beaten finally, beaten badly too. This lab has been ONLY discouraging, tedious, and feels rigged like gambling in a casino in the worst way.

It's my desire that my dual striker can take on Uber Atziri, so it feels too necessary for my character not to try to get one of the enchantments I need at the end of the lab to just pretend the content doesn't exist or to limit myself to a couple runs a day (getting no where slowly). Combine that and the fact that I'm making peace with the realization that I have basically a zero percent chance to get any of the enchantments I want, that I've become so discouraged that I'm about to give away all of my gear just to force myself to quit this game without ever having plausible reasons for returning to it.

POE is an addiction that has helped a lot in recent years to cope with daily boredom but now it's become a source of actual distress because I cannot control myself to stop playing. My heart's desire is to return to mapping and leveling which I find pleasurable, yet the Lab represents too much of a promise of the power I want in my character to simply not play it. It's like turning down free money, all you have to do is stand there bored to get it but you're never told how long you have to stand there doing nothing. So the longer you wait the more you say to yourself that it cannot be too much longer. It's only a matter of time. There's a psychology I recognize that is happening in me like a slots machine addiction, just one more quarter, but I fail to have the power to just stop and enjoy the game. This isn't a joke and this post must not be taken lightly. Your game produces high levels of anxiety, frustration, and distress with its RNG and death penalties already, now the lab has compounded all of that tenfold.

FEEDBACK SUGGESTION: GGG, if you are unwilling to remove the Lab, at least create an "Enchantment Orb" which allows us to enchant a piece of gear without having to grind the lab as often or at all. It would even still work if the Orb itself would only drop IN THE LAB and cannot be taken out of the lab for trade so that it must be used prior to leaving the lab, therefore we'd have a reason to carefully kill as many enemies as possible during our runs through the Lab in order to have a chance to get the enchantment orb plus we still have the Enchantment Font at the end as well if luck is still slow to grace us with its blessing.

Trade already allows players to sell Enchantments to other players.

I think a better idea would be allowing helm socket color to influence Enchantments received. This would allow players to use Chromatic Orbs to steer Enchantments towards desired outcomes, without making things deterministic.

AW come on, GGG, first it's the stinky foot of hardcore, now you're rigging enchants?

They don't know what hiding is... they don't know what dodging is... they are morons.

You mean I can buy a dual strike 10% APS enchant for my bringer of rain helm?

You can buy someone else's Dual Strike 10% Attack Speed Bringer of Rain. If they're willing to part with it.

There are Lab runners enchanting all kinds on unique helms, particularly the build-defining ones.

that'd cost a lot, I already have a legacy BoR, with a dual strike enchantment it'd be 60ex I bet, no dice man. It still leaves me stuck as ever
