A few points about the Labyrinth
On the whole I like the idea, but the execution needs a few tweaks IMO. In order of importance:
1. Why is there virtually no randomness in there? Having the same tilesets and same enemies is one thing, but why is there little to no change in the layout of the areas, or how they are connected to each other? I only did about 10 runs to date, and I now know the layout by heart. This is going to get really old really fast. 2. Why can't we use Vaal skills against Izaro? This is already a bit of a problem with extended bossfights like Dominus and Malachai, but at least you can fill up your Vaal gems before those fights from regular mobs. Here, you start with an empty tank and you have no way to gain souls. My primary boss killing skill is a Vaal Double Strike socketed into a Vaal Caress, but for this fight that combo is worth as much as a pair of magic gloves with no sockets. 3. Getting tier 1 maps from the final chests. Just... no. Nobody needs tier 1 maps when you can just farm Dried Lake, and they drop all over the place anyway. It's just not on par with the other chests, nor my expectations of the kind of reward I should get for such a bossfight. 4. Izaro looks a bit visually overdesigned. Maybe I'll get more used to it with time, but all that stuff sticking out of him makes it kind of hard to tell what he's doing. Last bumped on Mar 5, 2016, 8:36:20 PM

The layout changes every day. For everyone. That's why there's a daily leaderboard.
I didn't know you can't use Vaal Skills on Izaro. Admittedly didn't get much chance to really try it out. That's interesting. OH, you mean you can't recharge your souls. Yeah, sorry. With as many adds as Izaro has, that'd make the fight waaaay too easy. Izaro is a poseur. He's overdesigned for a reason, I think. At times he can be more more bark than bite.
Spoiler
As opposed to his pet bull-dog, who is all bite.
https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. Huh. My mace dude is now an actual cultist of Chayula. That's kinda wild. Last edited by Foreverhappychan#4626 on Mar 5, 2016, 6:34:54 PM

"Ah, makes sense. Never mind. :) " It's the combination of not being able to gain souls neither before nor during the fight. If gaining souls during the fight would make it too easy, can we at least have our Vaal gems filled up when the fight starts? Or somehow carry any existing souls over from the previous instance? " I get that being overly elaborate is part of his style, but when that gets in the way of telling what's happening in the fight, then a line has been crossed. Anyway, I doubt he's going to get remodelled, so it's kind of a moot point. " Funnily enough, I found Argus to be quite the pushover compared to Izaro. But then I only tried the labyrinth with my level 88 char so far, I'm guessing he's a good deal tougher at level. :) |

Argus is mostly very, very dumb. I.e. his AI is designed to be stupid, it seems. If you have a blink arrow gem, he gets very easy, because you can avoid 100% of his hits. Probably the same with some kind of minions or (decoy) totems.
