[2.2] Righteous Fire Inquisitor/Burninator - All Map Mods

Hello I'm STLPrice and I have been a big fan of Righteous Fire since 1.3/Bloodlines Temp league. I took a break from the game for a bit to get my life back in order and I'm finally back and hopefully for good. I wanted to make a build that was quite versatile, could navigate the labyrinth/trials with ease, as well as do all map mods with pretty good clear speed, and this is what I came up with.

Pros
+ Able to do All Map Mods
+ Extremely Tanky
+ You get to watch the world burn
+ 250+% Life before jewels (HC Viable)
+ Can somewhat be built on a budget
+ Reflect Immune
+ 4L is all that's really need
+ EZ to play
+ Consecrated Ground gives a lot of bonuses
+ 5 Jewel Sockets
+ Can survive desyncs

Cons
- Requires a few Uniques
- Leveling to 65 can be a little bit of a chore...but the switch is worth
- RF Totems don't stack with other RF Totem damage in party play
- Elemental Equilibrium could hinder party damage (easily fixed with swapping +ele item off)
- Have to pay attention to benefit from Consecrated Ground

2.2 Ascendancy Changes

Ascendancy Classes

Ascendant - Considered this going Inquisitor/Champion for the Damage/Mitigation Hybrid

Chieftain - I think this would fit better for RF totems, see further down in the guide!

Juggernaut - Considered this as my first choice when Ascendancy was announced, but it really only adds tankiness and doesn't up our DPS much if at all

Passive Skill Tree Update

I don't believe much changed for us.

New Support Gems

Less Duration

Elemental Focus

Summon Stone Golem

________________________________________________________

Izaro's Labyrinth
Upon completing the Labyrinth we are allowed up to 6 Ascendancy points total(2 per difficulty), and the ability to enchant an Implicit mod on: Helmet/Gloves/Boots

Bandits

N - Help Oak +40HP
C - Kill All + Passive Skill Point
M - Help Oak + 1 Max Endurance Charge

Gear

Outdated - Will update with progress in 2.2

BEWARE OF ENERGY SHIELD

Righteous Fire burns you for Energy Shield as well, so be sure to get as little ES as possible on gear, including your Rise of the Phoenix Shield.

Shaper's Seed

This can also be used to assist with -max regen

Gems

5L & 6L Setups

6L - Cyclone - Life Gain on Hit - Fortify - Curse on Hit - Elemental Weakness - (Flammability)
4L - Purity of Fire - Determination - Enduring Cry - Empower
4L - Cast When Damage Taken - Immortal Call - Chaos Golem - Increased Duration
4L - Righteous Fire - Increased Burning Damage - Increased Area of Effect - Concentrated Effect
3L - Cast When Damage Taken - Greater Multiple Projectiles - Arctic Breath

3L - Lightning Warp - Less Duration - Blood Magic
I use this setup to make sure we always have a way out of a sticky situation in case we are low on mana.

Kaom's Heart Setup

4L - Purity of Fire - Determination - Enduring Cry - Empower
4L - Cyclone - Blood Magic - Fortify - Life Gain on Hit
4L - Righteous Fire - Increased Burning Damage - Increased Area of Effect - Concentrated Effect
3L - Cast When Damage Taken - Immortal Call - Chaos Golem
3L - Cast When Damage Taken - Elemental Weakness - Flammability

Curse on Hit Gloves

These gloves can be used to work around the Blasphemy Mana Reservation and allow a more unique customization of the build. I will elaborate more on this once I get to testing this.

Essence Worm

Purity of Fire in Essence Worm

Some may choose to run Essence Worm with Purity of Fire in the ring, which would free up our mana reservations for other Auras.

Lazy Approach

3L - Blasphemy - Elemental Weakness - Flammability

Additional Options

Warlord's Mark (Another choice for Endurance Charge generation)
Vaal Lightning Trap
Summon Fire Golem
Summon Chaos Golem
Summon Stone Golem
Molten Shell
Ice Nova
Culling Strike
Increased Item Rarity
Searing Bond
Arctic Breath
Blood Magic
Enlighten (Lvl 3) -Allow for 3 x 35% Aura's to be run

Notes:

- Increased AOE can be swapped out for Conc effect when dealing with Bosses
- Vitality is really only recommended for early levels until you can get more points in passive tree

Jewels (Crimson)

You will need 5 Jewels for the end build. Personally I'd recommend looking for the following

05-07% - Max Life (Prefix)
14-16% - Fire Damage (Prefix)
10-12% - Damage over Time (Suffix)
10-12% - Area Damage (Suffix)
08-10% - Damage (Suffix)

Flasks

Other Options:

Leveling

Leveling 1-65

Recommended builds for leveling

- Firestorm
- Flame Totem

Level with whatever build you want, picking up Spell Totem after The Caged Brute

Continue leveling until you get to Act 2 and complete Root of the Problem, from here you should be able to get Righteous Fire. This will allow you to setup a 2-link of Spell Totem - RF Totem, if you like you can choose to use this to level with a bit later when you are a bit more leveled.

Skill Gem Order (Equip to level these)

QR - Quest Reward | VR - Vendor Reward

N A1 - Spell Totem (VR - The Caged Brute)
N A1 - Lightning Warp (VR - The Caged Brute)
N A1 - Life Gain on Hit (VR - The Caged Brute)
C A1 - Curse on Hit (VR - The Caged Brute)
N A2 - Enduring Cry (VR - Intruders in Black)
N A2 - Concentrated Effect (QR - Sharp and Cruel)
N A2 - Righteous Fire (VR - The Root of the Problem)
N A3 - Arctic Breath (VR - Sever the Right Hand)
N A3 - Purity of Fire (VR - Lost in Love)
N A3 - Determination (VR - Lost in Love)
N A3 - Elemental Weakness (VR - Lost in Love)
N A3 - Flammability (VR - Lost in Love)
C A3 - Increased Burning Damage (QR - A Fixture of Fate)
N A3 - Blasphemy (VR - A Fixture of Fate)
N A3 - Blood Magic (VR - A Fixture of Fate)
N A3 - Less Duration (VR - A Fixture of Fate)
N A3 - Increased Duration (VR - A Fixture of Fate)
N A3 - Fortify (VR - A Fixture of Fate)
N A3 - Cyclone (VR - Sever the Right Hand)
N A4 - Increased Area of Effect (QR - The Eternal Nightmare)
N A4 - Greater Multiple Projectiles (VR - The Eternal Nightmare)
N A4 - Cast When Damage Taken (VR - The Eternal Nightmare)
N A4 - Immortal Call (VR - Breaking the Seal)
N A4 - Summon Chaos Golem (VR - Breaking the Seal)

Lvl 65+

- You can equip Rise of the Phoenix in hideout and test to see if your degen is still too much.
- See if Vitality(lvl17) can assist you with keeping up the regen yet

The Switch

Rise of the Phoenix = + 8% Fire Max Resist
Passive Tree at 65 = 10.9% Life Regen + 1% Fire Max Resist
Level 17 Purity of Fire = +3% Fire Max Resist
Level 17 Vitality = 1.5% life Regen

75+8+1+3= 87% Fire Max Resist

90 x .87 = 78.3
78.3 - 90= 11.7
12.4 - 11.7 = .07 HP regen @ Lvl 65

Enchantments

Helmet
8% Increased Radius of Righteous Fire
Gloves
Decree of Light - Synergizes well with Inquisitor
Boots
8% Increased Move Speed if you haven't been hit recently
Regen 2% Life & Mana if you have been hit recently

Ascendancy

Inquisitor

I believe that this was the strongest class as it seems to provide a LOT of damage while giving us a lot of Life Regen and some Elemental dmg reduction.

Points (in order):

Augury of Penitence -> Sanctify -> Pious Path

Overall Stats:

+6% to all Resistances
+40% Elemental Damage
+1% Life Regen

25% chance to create Consecrated Ground on Kill lasting 3 seconds
25% chance to create Consecrated Ground when hit lasting 3 seconds
Nearby Enemies deal 5% less Elemental Damage

Consecrated Ground Bonus:
+40$ increased Damage while on Concecrated Ground
+4% Life Regen
50% Reduced Mana Cost while on Consecrated Ground
Immunity to Elemental Status Ailments while on Consecrated Ground

Consecrated Ground

The character and his allies regenerate an additional 4% of their maximum life per second.

Math

Thanks to your Ascendancy, while on Consecrated Ground you have:

+5% Life Regen (Total - 17.4% Life Regen without any Endurance Charges)
+80% Elemental Damage (Total +140% RF Damage - Thanks to the 20% Increased Area Damage and 40% Increased Fire Damage from passive tree)

Elemental Equilibrium Keystone

Jewelry or on-gear Added cold/lightning damage is best in slot for this to proc, some have chosen to go Ice Nova in their CWDT setup to proc this reduction in resistance as well.

Party Play Disclaimer!!!
You may want to look for gear of the other non-fire element to swap in place if you are playing a party with an elemental caster since you may hinder their damage without realizing it.

Gear Swap

Map Mods

-40-60% Life Regen
-No Regen
-Max Resist
-Slow Regen

Spell Totem

I'd swap the Increased Burning Damage to Spell Totem for casting RF Totem

Shaper's Seed

This can also be used to assist with -max regen

Curse Immune

Elemental Equilibrium

This is where Elemental Equilibrium comes in handy.

Vaal Lightning Trap

Vaal Lightning Trap can also assist since shocked enemies take 50% increased damage from all sources.

Cyclone Links
Default: Cyclone - Life Gain on Hit - Fortify - Curse on Hit - Elemental Weakness - (Flammability)
Swapped: Cyclone - Life Gain on Hit - Fortify - Increased Area of Effect - ? - ?

Alternative
You can also have a completely different chest for these maps if you want..
Cyclone - Life Gain on Hit - Fortify - Increased Area of Effect - Culling Strike - Increased Item Rarity

Chain
These seem to be a bit sketchy when using RF totems, be cautious.

FAQ

I swapped to RF and I still Degen HP in my hideout, help!?!?!

You Degen for 90% of your HP/sec, so multiply the % of resist you have into 90%
(RF Degen x Resist)-90 = HP Regen Needed

90 x .86 = 77.4 - 90 = 12.6%
90 x .87 = 78.3 - 90 = 11.7%
90 x .88 = 79.2 - 90 = 10.8%
90 x .89 = 80.1 - 90 = 9.9%
90 x .90 = 81.0 - 90 = 9%

I wanted to call out three individual guides that assisted me with getting to understand Righteous Fire and the Totem spec along with some cool tips like Vaal Lightning Trap

Cocotheone's RF Build
Milky's Dual RF Totems Build
ItsYoji's Righteous Firestormer

This build is somewhat of a merge to do ANY map while sharing our love for burninating the world!

Thanks!

Happy to admit I haven't tried. I plan to run this build at the start of the league, If I feel like I can do it I'll post back, I'd also mention regular Atziri but have never attempted her myself so I don't want to give false/inaccurate info.
I'm going to have to ask a question before i try the build: How are you running this with reduced mana? The gem doesn't lower reservation cost since 2.0.
Your build seems interesting to me. And it fits my playstyle. Can you please update your skill tree with new patch.
I really wanna give this build a shot.
Thanks.
