Whispers from players that ignore me

I understand that trading is not something you talk about in your meetings, but this is quite annoying, when someone wants to buy something from me, he whispers me, i can read his message but i cant reply to him. So that person spams me cause he thinks i dont want to reply to him, or thinks i am boting or whatever. He sees i am switching zones, that i am online and doing something but i am not replying.

So i need to ask one of my friends to tell that guy to unignore me, bla bla

i dont want to do this anymore and this is in the game for so long now.

If anyone reads this that can bring this up to any dev, wrap the topic up somehow, dont say its about trading, cause then it will never get fixed.

the friend/ignore system in this game is the worst in an online game i've ever seen.

i don't understand why they don't let us see who we ignored.
we can set a notice for friends. why not for ignored ppl?
this is something that could be implemented in less than a day because everything IS already in the game. make a new tab, fetch the (ignore) list, add a comment.

also i think you shoudn't be able to whisper a guy who you ignore without any form of notice.

it almost seems ggg does this things on purpose but i'm not getting why. This baffles me every time.

haha man, you sound like me long time ago.....but answer is always the same.....money....for any illogical thing you see in the game answer is money

in this case it is because they dont want people to ignore each other to much. That will result in less trading, less trading means less money.....same why they dont want offline auction house, but they prefer online auction house - xyz.

If you want to sell stuff, you just NEED TO BE ONLINE and in game, because otherwise you will never sell anything, and because you need to be in game you will do something....play a map, farm a lake, level alt, whatever, but you will be in game.

Same as they force people playing temp leagues by removing eternal orb and huge meta shifts every new temp league.....so many people want to create powerfull char, but they dont have time in temp league, so when their char hits standard league, their build will be changed/nerfed so they will most likely give up and start new temp league.....

cant blame them, no matter what they say, this is their job and money and profit comes first :)

Isn't the root of the issue that you behave in a way that causes other players to ignore you? If that happens a lot, that's probably where I'd start.

I do agree that the ignore/friends system could need an overhaul. The whole chat and communication system is archaic without most of the convenience features that archaic text chat systems actually feature. But still, you're also complaining about the social consequences of your behavior in the game.

i am not saying that people that ignore me whisper me every day, but it happens.

also so many times people from my friend list asked me to do the same, to tell someone to unignore them.....and i always do it.....i would rather do it for someone then me asking someone to do that for me.....but fml now its so annoying

also there were numerous times where people put other on ignore by accident.

Also i am in trade chat a lot, like all the time i play, i trade a lot.

When someone offers me 1C for 1 ex item i put him on ignore asap.

and so on and on and on.....i sometimes lowball too, and get ignored for that.....again not saying i always lowball

point is, people put each other on ignore, that does not relief GGG to not fix that....but they wont, because, yea, money


Another example is, i have put many rmt sites on ignore this league, cause they were spamming trade, like every 10 sec....and my ignore list got full ....so i had to clear it....enabling those people that annoy me, that i dont like, that insult, lowball, insert whatever reason, i ll get whispers from them again

a messaging system which doesn't provide the basic option to chose from "ignore all - allow selected users" and "allow all - ignore selected users" isn't worth it's name.

to op: it's a logical thing that a player shouldn't be able to message someone who is on his ignore list. i'm just wondering too that it obviously doesn't work this way already.

Not sure. Probably not by many. I know of one person that has me ignored.


Yes, the system could use an overhaul, but the general recommendation from me would be: Don't behave in ways that make people ignore you. If everyone behaved according to that rule, the community would be a lot nicer :).


EDIT: BTW, can't you just invite them to your party and re-name the party to "You are ignoring me, thus I cannot talk to you"?
