Beeping noise when holding down shift key, followed by mouse and game lag.
Im experiencing a weird problem, but it only happens sometimes.. When I hold down my shift key and left or right click ill experience a constant beeping noise followed by game lag and it gets worse and worse.. Idk what the problem is, any thoughts?

I have regularly had a similar beep noise whilst in game. I didn't have to press shift though.
I think there is this beep noise when you spam button presses and it's lagging. 120ms in my case. The game client is trying to send actions (in a queue) to the game server and the beep is telling you that it can't or something. It actually makes things really frustrating because the only time you really spam actions is when you actually need it say if you're dying and trying to use potions or in some cases pick up your own item in parties. Usually my latency is around 50-80ms but at the time of writing with the latest patch in Docks solo it's been fluctuating around 120ms. The lag and new patch might just be a coincidence so I'll withold judgement for now but thought I'd just point out my experience with this beeping noise and it's relation to lag. Edit: Amending the above comment, latency has dropped to 60-90ms and I still get beeps when my character is casting Spark and won't stop it. If I try to move away by clicking elsewhere I get the beep. I'm probably wrong but beginning to suspect that there is some test going on with the latest patch with false numbers for latency. Hi, I don't really want to bump an old thread, but I have exactly the same problems on a regular basis, meaning shift+attack causes beeping noice and coincides with major lag/desync (not sure which causes which).
The problem ususally starts after I ahve been playing a while (about an hour or so) and, often, switching to windowed mode mitigates the problem for a while. Are the causes for this known? Is it a game set-up problem, or with my OS? Or is it related to lag caused by my network connection? Any help would be most appreciated, as it becomes rather dnagerous to play in Nemesis under these conditions. R, DiZ |

The beeping is caused only by the keyboard. Most cheap keyboards don't support multi-button actions, meaning if you press X number of buttons simultaneously, the keyboard locks up until the buttons are released. For my keyboard personally, it's 3 keys, for others not sure.
:edit: forgot to mention, that is only if the beeping is coming from your PC, not speakers Last edited by Zero_Blade#4278 on Nov 12, 2013, 7:59:14 AM
