UI Concept Feedback
This feedback is in regards to the latest UI concept shown here:
http://grindinggear.com/poeinventorymockup.jpg It looks good. A lot of improvements have been made since we last saw this. The subtle texturing gives it a good feel. The compressed equipment layout is definitely better. I really like the textured swirly orbs but I hope they aren't static. The cash shop button I think is well done (it's subtle but obvious). The QWERT letters need a thicker black border to give them some more contrast. You can see the 'E' gets a little lost. Also, the flasks are missing their number assignments. I'm not really sure why there's so much dead space at the top of the inventory screen. I'd rather have that dead space at the bottom to give some more buffer between the mana orb and the inventory. The XP bar has 23 sections. Also, each fifth notch should be larger and/or highlighted to break it up a little more and better show the 25% marks. Forum Sheriff

I don't really have anything more to say about it that I haven't said previously, besides wanting to know what the triangle thing in the bottom left corner of the inventory is.

The molded settings for the red/blue gems in the information HUD add to the aesthetic greatly. Love it. Also, agree with tpapp about the QWERT contrast.

Wow, this concept is great.
But I agree, QWERT letters are not enough visible. And about cash shop button, well... personally don't like it - dollar sign is too much modern for this type of game. Coins should be so much better. |

I consider even what we have now one of the best UIs of all time, very good looking and very functional too, but this looks even better. However I thought of some changes and did a quick edit of that screenshot. I know I butchered it, haha, but I only wanted to show my ideas, which I hope you'll take in consideration.
This way you would fix what I find a problem too, the fact that there's too much loot and the inventory is very small. It might be a bit more realistic that way, but do you guys really want to make a game like this as realistic as possible? That would be perfect once you implement the selling system. That looks fantastic! I will have to agree with tpapp on the dead space above the inventory. I think that should be reduced a little. Are those orbs animated? That would be sweet to have an option to turn animation on.
I also like Gwyn's idea to add the three bag spaces into the empty space below... or something along those lines. Just seems there's a lot of space that could be used in a good way. Yep, big improvement. I think it's great to have a darker UI, it brings out the items and such.
The flasks dont have number because this is a concept, you can see there is only 1 flask in the character's belt...so I don't think the numbers will be absent in the version implemented in the game. The bigist UI problem I noticed while in-game, was in the Waypoint Menue. I would be curious to see how that's improved. Any significants to the half nacked chicks on the health/mana orbs? It looks absolutely amazing.
One question is about the chat window. Will it be in the same space as actually? Sometimes I find it's too hard to pay attention to the words if you are playing, and if you look at the words, it's too small to show enough and it's too much to the left. Minus the Dollar sign, I agree with pretty much everything tpapp said. I am still not sold on the location or the icon of the store button. Seems like it doesn't belong next to your skills.
