LATENCY ISSUES - SOFTLAYER

I have the luxury to be within 30min drive from your Server is Singapore, which normally equal a stable ping of around 10-12ms. Lately this has been some what higher at around 15-18ms with crazy spikes and Jitter. Your SG Server isnt talked about much since Garena took over the marketing in SEA, but i believe we are still a reasonable sized group playing on the server here. WinMTR stats below and seems to be linked to an issue with Softlayer - reference this post: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2336432 - which other people using that server for other services also seems to have an issue with. Could you please look into the matter and let me/us know how we deal with this issue with our ISP. I'm not sure how you put this on SoftLayer when there are clearly both latency and packet loss issues before the softlayer network.... like at myrepublic as well as equinix.

Sure i see that, but 42% loos at po1.fcr01.sr03.sng01.networklayer.com Iam on weird a ethernet cable setup (using power house power cables to route my pc to the router on the floor below) so i can live with a few packets lost, but hte 42% makes the game unplayable in HC. It doesn't exists past that hop on at the destination. | 5b.cb.0cd8.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com - 3 | 677 | 658 | 4 | 16 | 89 | 30 | The packet loss there is back down to 3% ( which still isn't great ), but the 42% you saw would only be concerning if it existed at the last hop as well. ok thanks, iam not the most tech savy so i just googled my way to below.
Any idea who to deal with this regardless of where the origins? others on the SG server has same issues. IGN: Buhh_XXXXXXXX

Could you try running WinMTR to a couple other locations. Google public DNS at 8.8.8.8 would be a good start. If you are seeing packet loss there, it will have to be something that you contact your ISP about. If something on the route you are taking is causing latency / packet loss before you get to the PoE gateway, it has to be taken care of.
Let's see what things look like when run somewhere else. I'd be interested to see what the routing looks like, and if the performance is similar. "I would have listened... I would have understood!" - Scion

FROM 8888.

Unplug router router/modem from power for 30 seconds or so, then plug it back in.
Try the 8.8.8.8 test again. |

just got back online and ran the following 3 wintmr sessions below. Again there is some package losses here and there and overall i need to raise that issue with my isp, but there definately also seems to be an issue with: po1.fcr01.sr03.sng01.networklayer.com Please to hear your thoughts as this is getting a little enoying.
