*Defenses
*Explain how everything synergizes and concepts of the summoner playstyle. Introduction Classic summoner is overall a solid choice which can do most content ingame. With the coming Ascendancy expansion and the new sub-classes it is a very safe future investment. With Necromancer being a new addition to the Witch-class, it establishes summoners in general as a recognized archetype which means it should always be in a solid state. Pros -Cheap (I started self-found) -Can do all map mods -Good clearspeed -Very safe -Can choose to gear offensive or defensive -Atziri Viable Cons -Takes a while for the build and gems to be effective -You rely on AI -Takes a few minutes to get ready on each login -Not sure if it can do Uber Atziri Current passive tree

Weapon
When you socket your Stygian Revenants into this the "Socketed gems fire projectiles in a Nova"-property does not apply to your Spectres, so it's basicly a free GMP Chest Self-found ES armor. I also want try out Midnight Bargains later on so ES it is. Could probably use some life tho. Vis Mortis is a great offensive option. Boots Currently a must. +1 Spectre is huge. Helmet Use a +2 minion gems helmet or The Vertex. I'm currently using The Vertex because I want to try out Midnight Bargains and need Chaos Resistance. Gloves Not much to say, some self-found ES gloves. Belt Self-found belt with some stats, ES, Life and Resistances. Left Ring Self-found Chaos Resistance ring, defensive slot. May craft %ES on it later. Right Ring Self-found Chaos Resistance ring, defensive slot. May craft %ES on it later. Amulet Good amulet. Sold one I had corrupted to 15% minion damage. Will be ideal to get that corruption again. Using this meanwhile. Current Gear

Darkshrine's coming to an end. I got myself a cheap 5-link for 2c and new gloves for 1c. Since it ends in a few hours I don't see myself getting any more upgrades before league ends. Currently lvl 76 and doing tier 3-6 maps (highest I got) without any issues, just alch'n go.

4-L Helmet
If you are in the transition phase from your leveling build to full summoner I suggest using this setup for more consistent damage: Raise Zombie-Melee Splash-Minion Damage-Culling Strike\Multistrike\Melee Phys Animate Guardian: 5-L 6S Staff 5-L: Open socket: If you only have a 4-link I suggest using Flame Sentinels from Solaris Temple, just remove chain. If you have a 5-link get Stygian Revenants from the Harvest. 4-L 2-L Chest 4-L: 2-L: 4-L Gloves 4-L Boots Leveling
Spoiler
Currently the best way to level this build is to go with Firestorm or Flame Totem to lvl 50+ where this build starts to get effective. I did it using Firestorm, but I believe dual Flame Totem is better having done both. The reason I chose Firestorm is because I've just recently leveled a Flame Totem MF'er and didn't want to go that route again. I will give a rundown of both methods.
My way (Firestorm)
Spoiler
You get Firestorm as a Witch as a reward for killing Merveil in the quest 'The Siren's Cadence'. Untill then use Freezing Pulse, Fire Trap and Flame Totem. After you get Firestorm you want to drop Freezing Pulse and Fire Trap, but keep Flame Totem. Your playstyle from here on out consists of casting Firestorm and dropping Flame Totem to kill off stragglers.
As you progress you want to link your gems like this: Flame Totem-Faster Casting-Fire Penetration-Faster Projectiles Firestorm-Spell Echo-Concentrated Effect-Fire Penetration Herald of Ice Herald of Thunder Flammability You can level like this to level 50, but chances are that if you have invested in some leveling gear, it will be more effective to level like this 60+ While leveling you can choose to put some points into spelldamage which you respec out of with free respec points from quest-rewards or you can choose to just go straight for your endgame spec. After this you start taking the minion nodes and respec the spell- and elemental damange nodes into the endgame build when you decide to transition. Better Way (Flame Totem)
Spoiler
I suggest doing the same as above untill you get to the Ancestral Bond keystone and can use dual totems. Start off using Freezing Pulse and Flame Totem. Once you get Firestorm, drop Freezing Pulse. When you get the Ancestral Stone keystone we also drop Firestorm.
Flame Totem-Faster Casting-Fire Penetration-Faster Projectiles Flammability Herald of Ice Herald of Thunder You can also add Firestorm-Trap-Spell Echo\Added Lightning\Increased AoE\Conc. Effect I chose to spec into summoner at lvl 50 because I had absolutely no investment into my leveling gear and was itching to play with summons. But it's more effective to stay with dual Flame Totems until 70+ if you invest in some cheap gear. Passive Tree:

Start off like this by rushing towards Ancestral Bond for dual totems. After that pick up life- and damage nodes as you see fit while working towards your endgame build. Leveling uniques

This looks just like what I've been looking for to play in Talisman. Do you think this build would be Atziri viable?
Ninja edit: bit of a noob still, which masters would you recommend leveling in a new league if playing with this build as first/main character? Last edited by Raal131#0680 on Dec 4, 2015, 10:57:49 AM

It is with better gear.
As I said in the introduction my computer is crap so I can't record,, but there are plenty of other summoners that have killed Atziri. While there may be slight variations in the build, there's only so many ways to build a summoner. Here's one example of an Atziri kill (not me): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K7obI2MgiY The thing about summoners is that since Necromancer is gonna be a sub-class in the new expansion, one can be fairly certain that summoners are going to be in a solid state. So both in the current state and for future investments I believe classic summoner is a strong character. As for the question about masters, it kind of depends, but you can never go wrong with Zana, Vorici and Elreon. Last edited by 7thDayTheory#1858 on Dec 4, 2015, 12:37:29 PM
