[2.2 Ascendancy] Duelist Battlemage Firestorm Vaal Molten Shell (Theory Crafting)

This will be my new char when Ascendancy comes.Have made lots of tests with firestorm builds and vaal molten shell, now im soo excited with expasion ascendancy classes, and for the released ones until now, champion duelist is the right choice for an IronWill Battlemage. Maybe passive tree change, but i dont think it will mess too much the theory. This is for hardcore, the survivability will be impressive in theory. We using Duelist for Champion Subclass 100% fortify, 30% inc damage, and removal of status ailments when on low life (such as poison, bleeding, freeze, blind, chilled, burning and shock). Champion skills we using are: -First to Strike, Last to Fall 30% increased Damage when not on Low Life 100% increased Armour and Evasion Rating when on Low Life Status Ailments are removed when you reach Low Life -Unstoppable Hero 10% increased Fortify Effect 10% increased Attack Speed while you have Fortify 8% increased Movement Speed while you have Fortify -Fortitude You have Fortify Gems 6 linked - Firestorm + Iron Will + Spell Echoo + Conc Effect + Fire pen + Controled Destruction or life leech 3 linked (Doon Cuebiyari) - Vaal molten shell + Inc Duration + Life leech 4 linked - CWDT(6) + Enfeeble(9) + Enduring Cry(20) + Inc Aoe(20) 4 linked - CWDT(1) + Firestorm(8) + Curse on Hit(20) + Flamability(20) *this needs +1 curse on gear 4 linked - CWDT(12) + Imortal Call(14) + Inc duration(20) + Vaal Haste? Flame dash + Fast Cast + or Leap Slam, + curse on hit + flamability + With this we have 5 active skill: Firestorm, flame dash, enduring cry, vaal molten shell and vaal haste, the rest is cwdt. Skill combinations depends when expansion launches. As suspected CWDT molten shell clears vaal molten shell buff. So no use for it. But we can have vaal haste with full duration. Ascendancy is 2.2. 2.1 is Talisman challenge league.
You have like 10 Damage nodes. If your gear is not hardcore dedicated to DPS, you not gonna kill anything with that. Even on my "tankiest" HC chars, i took at least 20 + 1 aura dedicated to damage. Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

" Thanks. Updated to 2.2 Damage nodes. For firestorm inc duration is a huge boost to damage, taking both of then simple double effective damage. Plus jewel nodes, with good jewels taking only 1 jewel node can be better than taking 3 normal damage nodes. As an Iron will caster, all strenght nodes i got to reach 503 strenght in passive tree will make that gem alone give a lot more bonus to damage than any support gem could. Having lots of life regen free a gem slot life leech, and no mana problem frees another one. Plus as a no aura caster i can use that unique jewel clear mind to have 60% inc spell damage. Plus 30% inc damage from champion, and the nodes i already got. Think will be enough for normal magic and rares mobs, if i need more damage on a fight vaal molten shell is there for it. Already tested this combination, it works, i just adapted to get ascendany champion bonuses on duelist, that i think fits perfectly for it as a batlemage. Aura damage is not a real good booster, not necessary, in my opinion. Maybe you can send me a better passive tree version more focused on damage, love theorycrafting. But please focus on iron will.
