How do I get a corrupted map without wasting a vaal orb on it?

Hey guys, sometimes maps are corrupted without a reason. I guess a map is corrupted when there are these pulsating tentacles on the floor from time to time? These maps are often more fun, more enemies, more drops. I haven't had such a map for weeks, now Zana's Dally Mission was such a map. How do I affect that?

Corrupted maps can only be obtained with vaal orb(map directly or carto box) or with div card. No other way.

I think you can get them from corrupting tempests.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Beyond? The pulsating tentacles and abundance of monsters seems to fit the bill.

One of the tormented spirits drops sacrifice pieces. Not sure if they can drop corrupted maps too.

Don't think of it as a waste, corrupting a map creates a lot of opportunity to recoup that investment. You get a chance at sac fragments, and potentially very high iiq/iir either through unidentifying it or rolling up to eight affixes.

" ^This, OP is clearly utilizing the wrong terminology here. 1) you can roll "spawns beyond mobs" on maps themselves 2) you can use the map device and pay a cost to put "beyond" on your map 3) or GGG can have it activated during certain events, like this current 1-month flashback league Peace, -Boem- edit : and to get corrupted maps without vaal orbing the map itself, you can find a "cartographer box" which drops maps. Then you can utilize a vaal orb on the box and all of it's content will be corrupted. By rolling your maps with alts. I've rolled some already in 1mth league.
