How to exchange currency?

Google isn't helping much, but i was wondering if there are sites similar to poe.trade that allow for currency exchanging.

Also is there preferred sites that have correct currency rates?

No. The most famous one is an RMT site*, and the one effort at an "honest" one got shut down because of death threats.

Also no major currency exchange exists that I know of outside poe.trade and trade chat.

You can get very good deals on trade chat, you just need to learn to spot players that also want to exchange their currency. Fortunately, it isn't an art, a regular player rarely offers to buy or sell more than one type of currency and his exchange rates are around a quarter better than what a flipper offers.

You got two courses of action once you know the real price, wait for someone to ask for the type of currency you're selling or post you own offer.

You get an idea were the "real" exchange rates are at the moment.

And you can use them when you really need chaos really fast.
Those couple fusings you lost will not hurt too much in the end.

All I want is collect ratarded 1500 fuses for Vorici. Good luck exchange everything what is not exalt to fuse. Most likely you will spend like me 20 minutes spamming in chat and after that quit with ALT + F4 after no success...

this game is not about farming orbs for crafting and gear. Here is all about trade and economy O-o
