Chance to Ignite

Is it a 100% chance of ignition on enmies when we deal a critical strike with Fire Damage?

Yes, all Crits that deal Fire damage will Ignite targets.
Can't wait to for item rarity gems to apply to burning damage so I can actually start using ignite chance.
Here's a question on the precise timing of Flammability's effects:

Say I have Flammability lvl-1, Burning Arrow lvl-1, and Asenath's Gentle Touch, which casts Temporal Chains on Hit.

1. Flammability gives a target -30% Fire Resist and +10% Ignite Chance.

2. A Burning Arrow hit does +30% Fire Damage, +10% Ignite Chance, and +20% Burning Damage.

3. The hit casts Temporal Chains, which increases burn duration +50%.

If I understand correctly, the target will be cursed by Flammability at the moment it is hit by Burning Arrow, causing +30% Fire Damage with -30% Fire Resist, and having +20% Ignite Chance.

Assuming the target ignites, it will burn while cursed with Temporal Chains, extending its burn duration by +50%. However, burn damage will not be increased by Flammability's -30% Fire Resist.
burn damage will be affected by fire resistance modification. also both curse and burning arrow doesn't happen at exact same moment.
situation of above parameters involve casting both hexes one at a time and before burning arrow is used. flammability is extended but thats trivial for this example. next burning arrow is used and yes the two chance to ignites additive modifiers work together to a 20%. foe happens to be ignited, yes that burn is increased in duration but it is still fire damage so the foe is still affected by the -30% fire res.
A little query re the wording on quality for this gem.

"increased Ignite Duration on enemies"

The Wiki does actually say "increased Burn Duration on enemies"

Now, the Wiki could be wrong or the gem description could be wrong.

Just semantics? Or not, here's the thing...

When this item was introduced

it was explained that ignite and burn are not the same.

You can, for example, still burn with this shield, as in
.

Ignite is a process that can/will cause burning, ignite =/= burning.

So the question now is two fold.

Is the chance to ignite quality skill gem worded incorrectly?

or

Is the ignite mechanic actually of a duration, where during that duration it will ignite, therefore with an elongated duration, say in PvP, the quality could re-ignite an enemy after a dispel?

I'm thinking the first, as the % quality would give little bonus in this regard and I'd expect the ignite process not to be of duration at all.

Edit.
I also notice

has Ignite Duration, too.
Casually casual.

Also no.

"Burning" is not a thing. "Burning Damage" is, and refers to fire damage over time.
"Ignite/Ignited" is the elemental status ailment caused by fire damage. It lasts 4 seconds and deals 1/3 or the fire damage of the triggering hit, as burning damage, per second.

If you are ignited, you are taking burning damage. Righteous Fire is not ignite, but does deal burning damage as well. Searing bond is also not ignite, but causes burning damage.

Burning damage is a type of damage. Ignite is one specific status effect that causes this damage.
So there are three ways to ignite:
- one directly from critical strike
- second connected with critical strike - for example gem chance to ignite
- third - unique items

I'd like to ask about second option.
1. I got gem chance to ignite with 20 lvl - 44% more ignite chance.
2. I also go burning dmg gem qual 20% (+10% chance to ignite)
3. I use detonate dead (crit - 4,5%)

So according to maths on 'chance to ignite' (gem) on wiki I got:

=1-((1-0,045)*(1-44%-10%))=56% chance to ignite per hit which deals fire dmg

Am I right?
