This is the official thread for my "Beginners Crit Split Arrow Ranger" build. In this thread, I will cover the requirements of the build. To get a more detailed explanation on how the build works and needs to be set up, check out the link to my video guide above.



First of all, what is this build and who is it suited for?

1. This build is designed for both new players and veterans alike. The build has the potential to run the highest level maps, and with great clear speed!

2. Someone who seeks a build that is fairly budget friendly - no unique items are required in order to make it work. That said there is a few very powerful ones I will recommend in this guide.

3. Fans of archers and bow builds!

4. A build that is both viable for hardcore as well as softcore.

5. People who prefer a build that has a video-guide linked to it.

Skill-gems and setups:

Primary Damage setup:

- Split Arrow, Faster Attacks, Chain, Physical Projectile Attack Damage, Added Fire Damage (5-link) & Weapon Elemental Damage (6-link).

Note: Depending on your crit chance, Increased Critical Hit Damage may be better as a 6th gem.

Single target Damage setup:

- Blast Rain, Faster Attacks, Physical Projectile Attack Damage, Weapon Elemental Damage, Concentrated Effect (5-link), Increased Critical Hit Damage (6-link)

Curse & Power Charge setup:

- Split Arrow, Chain, Curse-On-Hit, Assassin’s Mark.

Defensive Setup:

- Cast When Damage Taken (lvl 1) linked with Immortal Call (lvl 1), Ice Golem (lvl 3) and Increased Duration (max level).

Utility Setup:

- Hatred, Herald of Ash, Vaal Haste & Increased Duration

NOTE: Consider using Blink Arrow for more mobility instead of Increased Duration.

Skill-trees & Ascendancy class:

Ascendancy Class: The Raider

Ascendancy Points: Way of the Poacher, Rapid Assault, Avatar of the Chase, Avatar of the Slaughter

Note: Way of the Poacher is what allows you to generate Frenzy charges!

Leveling skill-tree, 36 points:

Finished build 115 points (includes Ascendancy points):

Bandit Quest Rewards:

- Normal : Help Oak for 40+ life
- Cruel : Kill them all for +1 skill point
- Merciless: Help Kraityn for +1 to maximum Frenzy Charge

Gearing and stat priorities:

Defensive affixes, in priority:

1. Life
2. Evasion
3. Strength/Intelligence
4. Chaos Resistance

For offense:

1. Flat Physical Damage
2. Critical Strike Chance%
3. Critical Strike Multiplier %
4. Attack Speed%

My Current Gear (ignore the socketed gems)


Jewels:

- Inc. Crititical Strike Multiplier%
- Inc. Critical Chance%
- Inc. Physical Damage%

Flasks:

- 2x Seething Divine Life Flasks of Staunching
- 1x Surgeon's Basalt Flask of Warding
- 1x Surgeon's Jade Flask of Reflexes
- 1x Surgeon's Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline

Yea you would pretty much follow the same path. Just grab the ranger nodes when you move your way towards the Spirit Void cluster. I suggest watching the video for a step-for-step approach =)

I think you are misunderstanding that the above quotation. It basically says that it can't be triggered by CWDT. It says nothing in regards to you casting the skill itself.

Besides, I obviously wouldn't put in the guide if I hadn't tested it.

Enduring cry works great when self-casted together with a CWDT, Immortal Call setup.

Enduring cry works great when self-casted together with a CWDT, Immortal Call setup.

It works as LNB says. You manually cast "Enduring cry" like a normal spell/skill, and those charges are automatically used by the CWDT support gem to power "Immortal call".

I struggle to use this to be honest, I always forget to cast enduring call - the setup is there on my gear but my brain apparently forgets it as soon as I leave town.
