Am i the only one have problems loading POE website?

It's been like 2-3 days now that loading POE pages takes a dozens of seconds when it usually takes a second. Not its not my ISP, all other websites are loading perfectly

I've not been having any issues - have you tried running a WinMTR trace to the website to see what nodes are causing the lag?

I would comment on the paranoia, but I am sure it is tongue in cheek (I hope).

I've had this from time to time. Seems to disappear over time though and i never really bothered to find out what caused it.

I don't know if it's what's going on with the TC, but I noticed that the akamaihd.net site which this site loads scripts from seems to be compromised. When scripting from that site is enabled while browsing this site I see a ton of ad links, including a mouse-over-word ad link claiming "important information regarding recent data security breach" that's linked to quite a few words that pop up on the site in the login/account areas. This scripting from akamaihd.net also altered the layout of multiple pages on the site, tried to load in-page panes (probably for ads) from "beethods.work," and resulted in some pages on this site getting loaded multiple times thereby requiring me to "back" out of the page 2-3x before I'd finally get back to the previous page on the site.

It might be worth using NoScript, and a browser that can run it if you don't already, and making sure that that's one site that's not allowed. Kind of a shame really as akamaihd.net is actually required for a few sites to function properly.

On that note, I have one question for Brian_GGG or anyone else on the staff that reads it. What and how secure is hwcdn.net? Up until sometime within the last 3 months or so it wasn't needed for me to properly browse and use this site, but now it's necessary to get character pictures to show in the upper left-hand corner of the page by the account section and to see things like mouse-over pop-ups for items linked in posts.

I don't particularly like having to allow scripting from more sites than the one I visit given that compromised ads/scripts were responsible for some fun times with my PC that nearly resulted in an OS reinstall, and as such I'm a bit concerned about this one, especially in light of the issues being caused by akamaihd.net.

i doubt the are trying to block you.

When you are trying to navigate the forums are you logged in or not?
If you are logged out can you navigate normally, and is it only when you are logged in that the problem surfaces?

- When I open my account page I can't see any pictures.
- Skill tree displays only an empty page.

To get both pages to work, I need to allow hwcdn.net in NoScript. Until yesterday this wasn't necessary.

My question is:

Does GGG change something in the way those sites were offered to the users and I have to allow hwcdn.net access to display those pages, or is this something, my virus/malware tool has to deal with? (And maybe any suggestions how to get rid of hwcdn, if it's a malware problem?)

if you are using NoScript- then click the Options button and hover over the listing for the script site in question.

It will say "Middle Click or Shift+Click for site info"

following that click you will get a list of sites that you can use to decide for yourself on hwcdn.et

Under the WOT (Web of Trust) the first comment gives a decent explanation of hwdcdn.net

"hwcdn is short for HighWinds Content Delivery Network. You can find them by going to the Highwinds.com site. They are a Caching content delivery network for lots of companies. so if you see that website come up some other company has posted their files there for you to access faster. They do however also allow those companies to track what is being downloaded by who and such. But they are only a caching server company as far as i can tell in the cursory research i did. thanks. hope this helps. "

To me, it seems as if GGG is trying to find a more efficient way to handle forum data.

What browser are you using? Addons? Userscripts? Blocklists? And what antivirus? It's no good saying a website doesn't work then not giving any indication at all as to how you're trying to access the site.
