Path of Exile has stopped working - 0xc0000005 crash at startup
HELP! I can't load PoE!!!!
Path of Exile (and the Beta too) are giving me the following crash errors. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall, but same error. Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX Application Name: PathOfExile.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 5550425e Fault Module Name: unknown Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Offset: cf6f3fd8 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Data: 00000008 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 What is this message? What can I do about it? --- Everything was working fine before. I recently installed an SSD, that's the only change. (Same path, etc...) I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. Hi there!
I'm sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue. In this instance, have you recently queued or installed any Windows Update downloads? BEX can indicate a buffer overflow (/GS) or DEP exception on 64-bit versions of Windows. BEX refers to Buffer Overflow Exception. For more details on BEX, you can visit http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc738483(WS.10).aspx Should you have an uninstalled update, please consider reinstalling it and/or any related graphics card drivers. I hope this helps! ✮ Please contact support@grindinggear.com if you need any help!

Thanks, I already tried DEP as Optin (for sys files only) but it's not helping. Same issue. I have no windows updates available for in the queue. I just tried reinstalling the graphics drivers. No luck. Any other ideas? |

This was resolved via a system repair. I don't know exactly what the cause was, but after repair applied it's fixes, upon the next reboot I was able to get into PoE without issue. Thanks Tom & GGG for being so responsive! You never really know the hold PoE has on you until your client goes down. :-) |
