What happens when Closed Beta starts tomorrow?

im not one of those "omg they nerfed my 1231232132131 dps nado shot!!11!" guys, but theres a thing that developers need to have in mind: rpg game players love that sense of completion when you pimp the char to perfection. if you can never say that your char is done because it can be completely destroyed in a single patch, many people will be pretty pissed

the only thing i can do now is make hideouts, because that at least stays how i created it -.- or maybe nerf that as well! how about "heeey, we decided 750 items in hideout is too much, we will drop it down to 500!"

How is the new eldrich battery gonna work with arctic armour? does the energyshield get damaged? whats with mind over matter and how is this gonna work with dicipline?

AA will drain mana and MoM will consume energy shield. This is what I understood so far but I might be wrong.
Search for the thread on the subject.
I generally agree with the main vibe that's coming across in the posts. The reason why we're unhappy AT THIS MOMENT is because many of use have (nearly) completed builds that are either getting destroyed or turned on their head with the patch. Of course the speculations at this stage look grim. Even with buffs to compensate I believe over the past few months some end-game (+200ex) builds got hit hard multiple times. First the nerf to Unwavering Stance being moved further from Blood Magic, the nerf to BOTH CRIT AND ACUITIES at the same time made them so so so much weaker and now we're not getting the shotgunning effect anymore. Shotgunning imho was great because it offered versatility. You could run the same skill setup for both clearing packs and bosses which was great.

Now at best we're going to be getting significantly lower damage output AFTER having to swap gems for a boss or rare mob? Again, I hope it just looks bad on paper and in game things aren't going to be as bad.

I admit that removing GMP from my version of Shatter Chuck hits it twice: less projectiles for barrage, and no shotgunning effect. Now couple that with removal of inner force (-max res incoming), some changes to crits and attack speed on weapons and I'm terrified to look at my build in 2.0.

Above all I want to believe that GGG is doing the right thing and that whilst some of these changes are necessary for some extreme borderline cases (look away from my Shatter Chuck please :>), THERE IS A NEED FOR SUPER POWERFUL AND EQUIVALENTLY EXPENSIVE BUILDS IN THE GAME. YOU CAN'T MAKE THEM MEDIOCRE. THEY SHOULD MAKE THE GAME EASY, AFTER MANY HOURS IT TAKES TO BUILD THEM. At least that's what I enjoyed the most about PoE.

A question to GGG: What if the shotgunning changes have an overall negative impact on build diversity? Nobody knows the extent of the consequences of this change, but is there any scenario in which you'd roll these back?

As far as I understand it now, when you cast a spell or arctic armor drains your mana. You will refill your mana with you es with a specific rate. But what the rate is would be interesting, or does it depends on total mana/es or the ratio between them.
It may work but also forces you to play like a ci char, i think. Cause when your es is empty in a fight you can´t run away or your mana gets drained out with no resuply...
I still think an IN game AH is a must. Get rid of these 3rd part program to make auctions. Make a damn Auction house.

Also Please increase the drop rate of currency orbs.

Auction House is flipper-paradise and a cancer for the economy, but that's just my opinion. Currency drops are rare, especially exalts, but that doesn't mean they need a buff. An increased drop rate means chaos recipe is worth less, and the items just cost more.
I am not a streamer and this beta is NOT about HAVING FUN. This beta is about catching bugs/glitches and reporting them. I think this is lost on most of the posters here. Streamers have more eyes to catch the bugs, this is a very good thing. Furthermore the bitching about builds being destroyed, these people should not play a beta. Expect FULL CHARACTER WIPES, when things are changed, if you are not someone who is ok with starting over. Don't play the beta. Beta means unfinished...Stop bitching people.

Anyone wanting to play the new content for fun, should leave for 6-8 weeks. Come back when the game is polished.
I just hope POE is a beta test for another game from GGG

Sounds great. Some long overdue things inside it like rebalance of weapon attack speed and crit hit chances.

Hope you get it better this time.
Its Pretty sad that streamers get priority over people that actually support the game and the company
