Dygnity's Uber/Norm Service, Gear, Builds, and Guides! :: twitch.tv/Dygnity ::
Hey guys! Here you can find information on my builds, gears, and more. I will continue to update this with the questions I get on stream and general information. You can catch me anytime at www.twitch.tv/dygnity and I greatly appreciate your support!
I've gotten a lot of requests for a build guide for my spectral throw and cast on crit characters, so Ill throw all of that information here to get you on your way to 78 maps and normal Atziri!
(1M FLASHBACK!) Low Budget, Early New League(24-48h), Atziri Killing Gear
There are a lot of st / coc builds out there, and the shadow, witch, and ranger forums have good guides. I would suggest reading them, and maybe even mine, to gain a better understanding of the build, your options, and the parts that suit your playstyle. This is ST/CoC my way :) Key points for my build: - High DPS for extremely low cost. Avg 20-60k, peak 350-400k+* O_o - Damage comes from gems/passives/heralds INSTEAD of gear, this is important and cheap $_$ :) - Gem levels drastically increase DPS. Some gems benefit greatly from quality. - 5L with GGGBB, or your color variation, to support ST>CoC>GMP>spell>spell - You can craft your own dagger to kill Atziri at lvl 60 with a stack or 2 of alts. - Normal Atziri can be killed below level 80 if you know the fights well, above it if not. - Elreon rings/amulet can reduce spectral throw mana cost to 0. No clarity or regen required. 0 passive point investment needed for sustain. - HP based, Surgeons flasks, and 84-86% fire resist with Purity of Fire lvl 19. - Reflect is OK, can run up to 78 maps, and very mobile. - I use Freeze Pulse and Fire Trap in +1 or +2 gem level wands I find to level to 50-60, then transition into ST/CoC when I have 5L and attack speed + crit dagger. Whether its a new league, new build, or you're a new player, ST/CoC is a really strong start. All the gear can self-found, crafted, and/or bought for extremely cheap. The build relies more on the passive tree and less on items to deliver damage, thus the build is affordable yet strong for a minimal to no investment. 1 Month SC - ST/CoC Build and Gear!

Orignally I paid 3 chaos for a 5L EV/ES chest to transition into CoC at lvl 54ish. I then scooped a tabula before finally linking my volls, both of which I sold so I cant list xD

http://goo.gl/l2LfUf Lets break the build down a bit so you can understand what is going on, and why it works. - The 5 Link is the core of almost every ST/CoC build. This is because we need Spectral Throw, Cast on Crit, and GMP or LMP to get the damage from our projectiles that are cast when we crit. You have many options as far as what spells to choose, a few common winners are Fireball, Arctic Breath, Freeze Pulse, Ice Spear, Ball Lightning, Ethereal Knives, and so on. My personal preference is Fireball + Arctic Breath, as these 2 spells shotgun allowing all projectiles to hit a target instead of just 1. Additionally, both Fireball and Arctic Breath deal AoE damage on impact, further increasing the effectiveness of your dps. Lastly, Arctic Breath crits keep mobs frozen allowing you a lot of control. Try them all out, see what performs best for you! From here, upgrading to a Voll's Protector is a massive increase in dps for a cheap investment! - The weapon is the next most important piece of the puzzle. Ive posted a few examples, but the thing all these daggers have in common is CRIT and ATTACK SPEED. Those are the 2 highest value stats for the build, spell damage coming in at 3rd place. We need to attack as fast as possible, and crit on as many of those attack as we can, in order to volley our spells for free. Aiming for 9.0%+ crit and 2.0+ attack speed is ideal, and spell damage on top is really beneficial. You can also craft your own dagger quite easily, and I will expand the crafting section to show you how! - Elreon jewelry can really simplify the build. If you use Spectral Throw lvl 10, and -16 total mana cost of skills from Elreon rings, Spectral Throw costs ZERO mana. Its free. No clarity or mana management required. If you can get atleast -12 mana cost, then the mana regen you get from the tree will allow you to out-regen the mana cost of spamming it. This allows you to drop clarity! This might not be as high of a dps option as other jewelry, but the utility it provides is really worth it. - You will want to run all 3 heralds. You can also run Purity of Fire (atziri) or Elements if you resists are low. This really helps with your map clearing via Ash and Ice, and all 3 heralds add additional damage to each one of the projectiles from your cast on crits. This synergy allows you to deliver strong dps by just relying on the auras and passives for the real damage. - Saffels is my shield of choice for this build. Free spell damage, Free spell dodge, and we are ranged so we don't need to block melee attacks (hopefully!). The +max res is really nice for Atziri as well as your own reflect. With purity of fire + saffels you should be in the mid 80s on fire resist. Ruby flask puts you over 95% and makes Atziri flameblasts cool to the touch! - Use the helm, gloves, and boots slots to finish off your resists. Attack speed on gloves is great. Accuracy on gloves and helm is really good too. You may need some Int on one of these if you didn't grab +30 nodes from the tree. Rats Nest / Maligaros don't hurt, but can drop your HP and resistances low. I suggest 60-70+ hp on helm, boots, and gloves.
Leveling and Transitioning into CoC
Like most builds, the leveling process and version of the build is not anywhere close to what end-game version is like. Because low levels would have a difficult time finding a 5 link and dagger capable of effectively pulling off CoC, I use a very structured leveling progression that is supported by gems instead of gear to level efficiently. In a new league, or without access to leveling uniques, I pick up 2 scepters as early as possible with the 10% elemental damage implicits. If they are not already Magic (blue), I will transmute them and hope for +1 fire or +1 cold. Assuming I fail both scepters, I will trade 1 to the vendor with a Sapphire Ring and 1 Orb of Alteration. I will trade the other one in with a Ruby Ring and an Orb of Alteration as well. This will give me a +1 cold gems scepter and +1 fire gems scepter respectively. The rings can be bought from Nessa for 3 Wisdoms each. If you are super unlucky on wisdoms and no rings dropped for you, simply create a new character and quickly kill hillock- new characters start with 3 wisdoms. From here my focus is using Freeze Pulse and Fire Trap to level quickly. From the Weaver quest in A2N you get Lesser Multiple Projectiles, which I link to Freeze Pulse in my scepter. When presented with a choice of herald, I choose Herald of Thunder. When presented with a curse choice, I pick Assassin's Mark. I do the optional Library quest in A3N and I take Curse on Hit. I link Herald of Thunder, Curse on Hit, and Assassin's Mark together to curse everything for free, generate power charges, and return mana and HP on kill. You should have all this rolling together by the end of Normal, and you should be zooming. I continue to level and at A3C, I do the optional quest in the Library again for Elemental proliferation, which I link to Fire Trap. Because Herald of Thunder will cause Fire Trap to also deal lightning damage on top of Igniting, throwing a fire trap that crits with prolif will spread it to all the mobs in the pack, generally one shotting them. At any point in time during your leveling process, adding in Clarity and/or Herald of Ice makes things move along quickly. Assassin's Mark does wonders for mana management if you are not running Clarity. By the time I hit merciless, I am looking to transition into Cast on Crit. I tend to roll a witch before I even start leveling and place fireball and 3 wisdoms in my stash. I select arctic breath when presented with it, and I level both skill gems on my off-weaps or spare sockets so they are leveled and usable when I am ready to transition. I try to buy a white 5L EV or EV/ES Chest from trade if I do not already have one for a couple chaos, alch it and color it. As long as I have found a decent dagger or simply craft something with attack speed and crit with a couple alts, I can transition to begin farming levels much faster. Below you can find my passive points broken down every 20 points to help guide you through the process. Bandits: Normal - Life Cruel - Passive Merciless - Power Charge
Leveling Trees!
20 Points: https://goo.gl/ZwgeJx Early leveling, easy breezy. 40 Points: https://goo.gl/G6ZVDz I generally need atleast 1 of the +30 stat nodes if not both, depending on how lucky I am with stat rolls on drops. I head straight for Ondars and Acrobatics before moving to Harrier and True Strike. This sets me up to get started moving towards the left side. 60 Points :https://goo.gl/5ETfgP I start to fill the life nodes and begin moving further toward the left side of the tree. I stop at shaper, the get blood drinker for the life and the herbalism cluster. Sentinel is nice because it helps offset the cruel -20% res penalty. 81 Points: https://goo.gl/kWp6z5 At some point between the 60 and 81 point trees, you should be able to transition into CoC. During this stretch I finish the path to the left side and also complete the Nightstalker, Depth Perception, and Heartseeker clusters. If you are approaching 80 points and still havent transitioned dont worry, you can craft an ambusher @ lvl 60 that will allow you to do so. If you get a fast dagger that has room for crit, simply master crit on with vagan and use that until you craft an upgrage anytime you feel ready for it. **ALSO grab the power charge above shadow when you transition as well!** 100 Points: https://goo.gl/ldvCw2 At this lvl 80 point, you should be a machine. We have gathered much of the crit, life, and ele clusters that are valuable. If you have Elreon jewelry, you can most likely drop shaper. From here, you can continue to fill out the life nodes or progress further into the templar start for more dps and life. Atziri should cringe when you enter the Apex :) 117 Points: https://goo.gl/sh4sgI I dont have a lvl 97 shadow, nor am I going to try to stay alive long enough to get there. However if you do, this is probably what I would do with it. Alternatively, you can do this: https://goo.gl/ZZ8w7j UBER SERVICE: FREE Kills: 10+ per Stream - My Uber Atziri service is completely free. I really enjoy running both norm and uber, and my build clears quickly and reliably. I appreciate any and all feedback from my friends, customers, and viewers, so please reply below! Below you can find my Mjolner Uber Build and gear used for providing service runs!
Uber Build: Low-Life *Crit* Mjolner w/ Acuity
Low-life Mjolner is extremely fun to play with amazing clear speeds and strong survivability. Below you can see my current gear setup for clearing Uber Atziri.
Current Gear!
Key points for this build: - Mjolner, Volls Devo, Romiras required. 5L Shavs OR 5L Solaris is required at a minimum. - Lvl 23 purities are required to achieve 100% Fire Resist and 101% Lightning Resist, and there are a couple ways to handle this. - Chaos resist is very useful on one piece of gear (belt, helm, boots, or gloves) to reduce bloodrage degen significantly. - Vaal Pact is used until Acuity, and Acuity is not required to kill Uber. - Dream Fragments or Freeze/Chill Immune flasks are required to avoid frozen, the build does not itemize cold resist. (Seriously... its hilarious) - Crit is considerably more effective than Resolute versions due to higher DPS output and 99% flask uptime with surgeons affix.
My Tree (@92 should I ever level)
http://goo.gl/gjMUTU So I get it, you keep saying Mjolner and Volls and Romiras but... what is actually going on? This build blends the individual mechanics of these uniques together to generate power and endurance charges, discharge them multiple times a second for significant damage, while providing for exceptional survivability through high resists and leech when attacking. - Mjolner's main contribution is the 50% chance to cast socketed lightning spells on hit. We use Discharge and Arc as our 2 lightning spells, and support them with life leech so our ES pool can benefit significantly from their damage. The next step is hitting as many time as possible in order to cast our free spells, and my preference is Molten Strike. With GMP, Multistrike, Faster Attacks, and Blood Rage, I attack 6.5 times per second @ 7 projectiles per attack. This means ~45 individual hits per second that EACH have a 50% chance to cast discharge and arc. Yeahhh.... broken. O_o
APS * Projectiles for Molten Strike
- Romira's is critical to generating your power charges consistently and reliably when you do not land crits! With a Power Charge on Crit gem, you only have a %chance to gain a charge on critical strike. Romira's allows me to skip getting any Melee / Mace / 1 Hand crit nodes, and stack all spell crit instead. By doing this, I ensure my Molten Strike projectiles rarely crit and are always generating my charges from non-crits thanks to Romiras. Instead we want spell crit to help boost its damage because we do not suffer the drawback from using Romiras. Since the charges are consumed with Discharge anyway, we don't have any to lose if Discharge crits! - Voll's Devotion is actually quite nice for this build for a couple reasons. The actual stats of str, int, ES, and AllRes on the amulet really benefit the build by themselves. However, the mechanic of gaining endurance charges whenever we lose a power charge is the biggest advantage. We are constantly discharging our power charges, and that instantly generates endurance charges for us to discharge. This significantly increases discharge dps and leech and allows you to generate endurance charges without enduring cry. Because we are discharging multiple times a second, we do not suffer any penalty for using the Voll's. I will continue to add to this until it ends up being a full guide to the build most likely, however you can find a lot of information in this tread: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1181110 ** PLEASE NOTE: I prefer to use LGoH in my link instead of spamming a health flask. Up to you! ** If you are a new or beginner player, then I would like to welcome you to PoE! Some people might call you a noob, and you may even think you are, but I want to assure you that you're not. PoE is a complex and deep game from the passive tree and skill gems, to gear and items and currency. This may seem overwhelming at first, but as you continue to explore the game and try out different builds your game knowledge and aptitude will increase exponentially. Having played the game for quite a while, my philosophy is to treat and guide you like I wish someone would have been able to guide me.
Dyg Approved Guides For New Player Builds!
My first suggestion is to follow an established guide of a fun and inexpensive build to explore your first play-through or 2. The goal of this is to allow you to complete the storyline and advance through endgame maps with cost effective gear and a passive tree + play-style that is proven to work and looks fun to you! By doing this you can focus on exploring and understanding the game itself, and then use that knowledge to better construct viable builds in the future. There is no wizard or warlock or druid or shaman- Each character type is only differentiated by its starting location in the passive tree. The game is designed for you to blend the items, skill gems, and passive together effectively to produce builds capable of completing the games content and challenges. With that being said, I have pulled some guides together from the different areas of the forums that stand out among the rest for beginners and new players. These builds are fun, exciting, varying degrees of dps, and balanced defensively. I aimed to pick a variety of builds from the different core meta of the game currently, casters, ranged, and melee. While hundreds, if not thousands, of builds are out there, I encourage you to explore these and others you find that suit your play-style. Watch videos of the builds in action, learn about the mechanics of the skills in depth, and explore things that interest you from there. If you have any questions at all, or wish me to discuss a build you find or would like to try, feel free to just ask and I will be happy to help! These are particularly aimed at low cost gear investments that will allow you to generate currency, complete content, and have fun on your first play-throughs. I get questions about crafting constantly and wanted to put all my information in one place! I will give a general explanation of crafting for those just getting into it as well as a more detailed look at each of the weapons and other bases specifically.
Craft like a BAWS with 100ex or 100 alts!
Crafting is both a source of income and a build completing event. I have a goal each time I craft and often I will accidentally create good items to sell or use with other builds due to how random crafting can be! Some important things to know about crafting before you start: * The item level of a base determines HOW HIGH the value of each mod may roll. - This can be checked by holding an item on your cursor and entering /itemlevel. - Each Armor and Weapon type (Swords, Daggers, Bows, ES chests, AR Chests, etc) has a certain base(s) that is the most preferred to use in crafting due to its base rolls. * Based on Item Level, mods roll in tiers. Tier 1 (T1) is the highest each mod can roll, and is the most desired and valuable. - The tier list for all bases and their values can be found here: www.poemods.com - Mod values CANNOT BE DIVINED OUT OF THEIR TIER. If you have a roll that's T5, it cannot become T1, only a higher or lower value within T5. I know, it sucks. * MOST Items with ALL TIER 1 MODS are considered mirror worthy. Most people will NOT mirror an item that does not have all T1 mods (very few exceptions: legacy, vagan weaps, elreon jewelry, etc) Some things I do personally: - I craft with a goal. If I start hitting a base with orbs, I have an idea of what I want to get out of it and the rolls I am looking for. - I look for good rolls that deviate from my goal. If I want a spell based CoC dagger, and I roll a really strong phys or elemental start instead, Ill set it aside and work with it later. - I gather multiple bases before I start my session, generally 5-10. This is because I often get rolls of lower tiers that -could- be good, so Ill set them aside to see if I roll something better or not without having to give up a slightly lower tier roll for potentially nothing. Also, I roll good starts to other types of weapons :) - Throw all the orbs you need and want to spend in the same tab youre crafting in, or your inventory. Have transmutes, augs, and alts, maybe a regal or 2. I do this to ensure I don't start spamming alts from other parts of my bank, and only spend the currency I intend to xD
The Crafting Process: Grab your base and leggo!
Once you have your bases and you know they can roll everything you need, we can start. It is important to know that: - Magic (Blue) items will roll 1 prefix and 1 suffix. - Magic items can be regal'd with only 1 modifier, making them rare with only 2. - A regal will only add 1 additional property no matter what. - Using an Aug on a magic item with 1 prefix property will always roll a suffix, and vice versa. - High rolled Magic bases CAN be Eternal'd before a regal should you wish to ensure the base stays intact if the regal fails. This is expensive. Lets begin. If the base is white, hit it with a transmute. From here, you will use Alteration orbs until you hit 1 or 2 of the rolls you are looking for. If you use an Alt and only hit 1 property and its one that you want, you use an aug to get the second one. If it bricks, back to alterations until you get another winner. Lets say you hit 2 properties you really want on your base. Gratz! Now that you have your start, you have a couple options. If its really well rolled and you don't wish to craft any further, you can sell here generally for a profit as a blue base. If you want to regal, now is the time. If it bricks but is still useable, then you can sell or master to complete. If you got really unlucky, you can simply scour the base and start again. This is the worst case scenario, but a common one. If this happens, you simply redo the crafting process until you land a solid regal. Lets say you hit a good or useable regal. Well done! There are a couple steps you can take next, depending on how the rolls have gone. If your rolls are all T1, you can et/ex and finished crafting, or sell. If your rolls are below T1, you can multi-mod with master, yolo exalt it, sell it, or simply master it until you decide what to do. If you crafted for personal reasons or an item for your build, you can simply master on whatever else you need and you're set! Ill update this next time to include some links to various weapons to help you get a mental picture for what things look like during the various stages of the crafting process. I will also be adding an in-depth guide for each of the bases I like to craft so help you understand more thoroughly! Last edited by styyled on May 15, 2015, 2:59:46 PM
