Why doesn't POE have mounts?
Hi,
Almost every game I have played with an online component and a fantasy setting has mounts. The reason is very simple. We can't ride dragons in real life, just like we can't shoot blue magic out of our hands, which is why we play games. So back to the titled question: Where are the mounts? None of the devs are my friends, so I am not sure if they are planning on releasing mounts or not, but this could be a GAME CHANGER for POE, a turning point. Some of the advantages of introducing mounts: 1) More money for GGG 2) Increase in player base as many players from games like World of Tanks will come over to POE 3) Faster travel time in maps 4) Looking cool, something to tell all your friends and co-workers about 5) Give mounts armor, more slots to fill and therefor creating more depth to the game 6) Can name mounts, and thus creates a sense of attachment to the game; like a doggy 7) Opens the path for flying mounts later, and again more money for GGG to improve the game 8) Could expand on this and give your mount its own passive skill tree, again more depth 9) Mount of the week series, creating more PR for GGG 10) And lastly, introduction of new race(s) in game means more lore about the mounts There are other reasons, but I just wanted to list a good even number like 10 to get things rolling. I know this idea has a large following, so I am sure other people will add their thoughts. Also, just so this is a fair and objective thread, I'll list some Cons also: 1) Players could abuse mounts by mounting up in PvP when having low life, but GGG could disable PvP That's all I have, thanks. Will create a petition soon if this thread gets enough likes. This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

" PoE sits in your "almost". " That's probably why people that enjoy PoE because it is PoE and not an other game don't want it. Just like people that realize someting they think crucial to have in a game and don't find it here are probably not playing PoE. IGN : @Morgoth

very few hack-and-slash rpgs have mounts
there's no mounts in diablo 1-3 there's no mounts in titan quest and grim dawn there's no mounts in torchlight and the maps just aren't big enough to warrant a mount |

The rhoa preservation society says NO.
Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

I love mounts, but where do you wanna use them besides afking in towns? There is no place in game where they have use.
" How do you see that? Mount up, run 2 steps, dismount to kill mobs? The only thing I can think up of is when you are done with a map and are looking the last remaining mobs. Mount up, and run around the map quickly. Yeah, gamechanging. Mount are for reduced traveltime. In Poe we don't have any traveltime at all. Case closed. And this is from some who loves mounts. I had 149 mounts when I quit WoW after missing out on the deathwing mount, which was an insane amount back then. And yes, I really quit because of that. (edit: although not solely for that, that was the last straw for me back then) Last edited by Punica1980#3964 on Mar 23, 2015, 9:23:33 AM
