guild management

the biggest problems i had with guilds since are:

1) changing guilds and losing money spent on the guild in the process
2) the impossibility to join two guilds (according to support)
3) it's not feasible to disintegrate a guild without the points being lost


in my opinion this is due to the way ggg designed and implemented the guild system as a separate entity where the leader has absolute power. with all the negative effects authoritarian systems can have.

centering guilds more around the members would have been easier and fairer and would have also taken alot of support issues from ggg support.



my suggestion for a fairer guild system:

players can buy guild stash tabs as a account bound microtransaction which enables them, like at advanced tabs, to mark a certain amount of existing tabs as "guild stash tabs".

the guild stash just displays all enabled guild tabs and if a player leaves a guild, his tabs go with him.


this would:
- make sharing stuff with the guild alot easier.
- avoid artificial rules like: players who donated points to the guild can't be kicked for some time.
- make the liquidation and joining of guilds alot easier
- take power away from the guild leader to the players who contributed

there is just one problem: players sometimes want to share more stuff than fits into their guild tabs without giving other players the possibility to leave the guild and take their items with them (yep, at the moment this is possible as well but surely will change in the future).

one solution for this problem is to make it mandatory for the guild leader to buy and share at least 5 tabs when opening the guild, which he can't take with him, when he leaves the guild. they stay at the guild tab and get deleted when the last guild member leaves the guild.



on a related note regarding guild char slots:

and even guild char slots could have been handled the same way: players buy themselves a guild slot to be able to join guilds which already have maxed out their player count. which they take with them when they leave the guild.
