How to permanently display dropped items?

Probably a stupid question, but how can I permanently toggle on highlighting for dropped items? The option menu tells me to hit Z but that doesn't work at all, rebinding the key also doesn't do anything.

Do I rly have to press ALT all the time or is there a hidden option?

I think there is an option for "Always highlight".
Have you checked that?

Always highlight is active, doesn't help either.

You might need to tweak your production_config.ini file, found under my documents-->My games-->Path of Exile. Near the bottom there are some UI settings.

Thx, setting "filter_white_items" to "false" worked.

This worked perfectly, how about when their is a FULLY loaded page of loot i.e. after boss kill. I saw on a stream a way of organizing the loot so its not so scattered on the screen. It was said how it was done but I didn't catch it.

Any idea?

Well I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about, but if I'm right...

The floating names of items are spread out because when they first appear they are bigger because of loot timers. Once the loot times are gone, pressing Z twice should reset their positions and they'll fit together better because they're smaller.
