New "Summoner" Witch looking for tips!

Hi guys, I just started PoE today, and I made a witch intending to go toward the "Necromancer" role. Yes, there are tonnes of guides out there, but after plenty of research, I just get confused at the overwhelming amount of in-game terms. I would just like to know more about the passive skill tree, stats I should try to build, and the skill gems I should utilize. Thanks in advance!

PS: I am playing this with a friend, I am lvl 13 and he is lvl 16 ranger. We tried pvp and it was so one-sided I was honestly disappointed. He destroyed dozens of my zombies/skeletons/raging spirits with one or two shot-gun autos. Any tips regarding pvp? :3

Unfortunately with the way pvp was developed in this game, you're required to already have a considerable amount of knowledge about items, the skill tree, gems, etc. It's not something you can jump right into without having "beaten" the game several times over. So my advice is to wing it and try your best to get as far into the game as possible before exploring pvp. When you hit a specific problem that stops your progress, then you can look it up.
