Wand stats for freezing pulse crit build

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a wand for my witch and I'm uncertain what stats I should be looking. I just finished merciless and I've completed a few maps. I'm planning to spend a couple of exalts so I'm not looking for a super end game wand. Atm I'm using

Stats for my Freeing Pulse are:

DPS: 2709
Cast per second: 3.1
Spell critical chance: 33.4%
Spell critical strike multiplier: 272%

Considering those stats, should I go for a wand that has ~80-90 spell damage and and not that much of a critical chance bonus or a hybrid? How important is added cold damage?
If somebody would help me out I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance :)

I'd recommend the following:

Spell Crit Chance (90%+) > Cast Speed > Spell Damage

Crit Multi, Projectile Speed and Cold Damage % (flat doesn't apply to spells) are good additions.
IF you get something with an open prefix you can also master craft Cold Leech with Catarina.

you can get spell dmg or cold damage from other sources as well.

I'd say spell crit > > crit multi > cast speed > faster projectiles > spell damage > cold damage > mana reg :=)
Thanks for your reply guys!

I have to say that was counter intuitive for me. I thought spell damage was the most important mod. I'll most definitely change my search criteria then.
One more question. Considering other stats that you mentioned such as cast speed, spell damage etc, what percentages should I be satisfied with? Have in mind I'm planning to spend only a couple of exalts.

Thanks once more for your help :)

Something with atleast 90% Spell Crit, 15% Cast Speed and 30% Projectile Speed should be in your budget, maybe even with 30%+ Crit Multi.

Spell Damage imo plays a minor role, as you can easily add up to 44% with Catarina (considering the wand has an open prefix, and no single Spell Damage roll is present) while she either can't add those other vital stats for Crit FP in high enough quantity, or not at all.

So, instead of buying a wand with the above stats and ~50% Spell Damage for a couple of exalts, i would rather buy a cheaper wand and add Spell Damage with Catarina for a couple chaos. Only if Spell Damage is at 70+ it's worth paying a few exalts on top for that.

If you aren't sure if your soon-to-be wand has an open prefix, check poemods.

Thanks for helping me out guys! I bought a pretty nice wand for a fair price and I'm satisfied with my damage increase :)
I'd rather save for Apep
IMHO faster projectiles isnt worth the suffix.

If you want sheet DPS, crit>castspeed>multi>spell dmg

Personally I go for less sheet and prefer hardest hitting casts for longer freeze.

Crit chance>multi>spell dmg>Cold Dmg.

Cast speed has higher sheet but, you have to keep an eye on your mana regen to sustain full shotgun. Personally with my build I feel I don't need cast speed, haste/blood rage/spell echo/cast speed ring are enough for me. But if your going for absolute highest sheet dps, cast>all

Hopefully you didn't spend much on your wand. Because everyone here is completely wrong.

In terms of DPS (with the following gem combination: FP+GMP+Echo+Cold Pen+FA+ICD):
Spell Dmg>Crit Dmg/Cast Speed>Spell Crit

Without FA: Spell Dmg>Cast Speed/Crit Dmg>Spell Crit
Without ICD: Spell Dmg>Crit Dmg>Cast Speed>Spell Crit

FA would give you more dps than ICD, btw. This is on about 10ex worth of gear lvl90 char. Running HoT and HoI. It would also apply to pretty much any char with enough lvls and gear to do maps, BUT... whether Cast Speed, Crit Dmg, or even a very high Spell Crit roll are better, depends somewhat on what stats you already have on your gear; i.e. Crit Dmg on your amy, Spell Crit on your rings, shield, and so on. Remarkably, Spell Dmg, which everyone here put in last place, makes the biggest difference and gives the most dps pretty much no matter what.

Ideally, you would want to buy a wand with the highest possible Spell Dmg, Cast Speed and with some Spell Crit on it, and then bench Crit Dmg on it, since you can get up to 27% inc out of 38% max (as opposed to only 11/22 with Cast Speed, 44/108 with Spell Dmg and 69/109 with Spell Crit). Or even better, find a wand with Spell Dmg hybrid on it that also has Cast Speed, Crit Dmg and Spell Crit, and bench Spell Dmg.

Increased Cold Dmg is basically as good as Spell Dmg, the only difference is that it doesn't affect the added flat Light Dmg from HoT and it wouldn't, if you decided to go that way, affect any other added dmg from a gem (like Added Light, Chaos), unless it was Added Cold Dmg. However, since it's a suffix as well, you are better off getting something else in its place.
