This would also explain why the duelist is holding a pure dex weapon in the log in screen. (Only character not holding a weapon purely relating to his stats.) Anyone that played the game since closed beta prob. remmember back when he was holding a rusted sword. (He looked differently in the character selection screen.) GGG apparently learned their history.

(IMO he should be holding a rusted hatchet tho, as it would make more sense regarding STATS, and scion has to start out with rusted sword anyways.)
