Unid items?
I have noticed one thing that is very different from diablo 2. No one sells unid uniques in this game where as in diablo 2 this was a common practise.
Is there a reason for this? I used to sell almost all my loot unid in diablo 2. |

Maybe xyz doesn't track unid items properly? Not sure, really.
Also, divine orbs. If you really want near perfect stats on an item, you're going to link it and divine it. In d2 you were stuck with whatever stats it dropped, so the allure of gambling on an unid was probably much greater. IGN: Smegmazoid

Not sure this was the case for all buying/selling of unid uniques, but I knew a few fellows who bought bulk unids from me for their RMT sites.
Also, if I recall, you couldn't change the rolls of uniques in D2 like you can on poe (divines). So ID'ing on D2 was a larger risk/reward type situation. Weren't the stats in D2 set when you ID'd it but here they are set when it drops? I could be wrong.

no, D2 is set when drop. had roll back a few times back then. all same result.

With the new challange in the new leagues unid items becomes somewhat more valueable now. :)
Due the "identify these uniqes" |

" Indeed, that was the intention. | |
" This is a really good thing economically, too. The nolifers that go for 8/8 can pay the "identification cost premium", and all the id'd versions of items can be traded to others at lower cost. Hopefully this is the pattern for all future "uniques" challenges! --- Aside from this, most people don't trade unid because divines exist. For some really top-tier items, you want to id it and possibly divine it a few times (costs X) to raise the cost (benefits >X) before selling it on the market. For really low-tier items, it doesn't matter much one way or the other since max/min rolls are roughly the same value and, if identified, at least they can be used for leveling. |

I feel like the ranges on the mods are tighter and uniques don't have as many variable mods as d2 but that may not be true.
