Caverns Tileset - Inaccessible Areas
In the most recent patch there was the following bug fix:
" I still believe however this bug is capable of happening. The following screenshots are not Cavern of Wrath or Anger but based upon the tile set.. namely the Undergroud River Map. Same tile set though so probably applies. These screenshots were also taken in the same instance of the map. http://i.imgur.com/DE2HqYt.jpg - Here the bottom is blocked off. http://i.imgur.com/Gd9bPmm.jpg - Here the top is blocked off. http://i.imgur.com/F4GKY3z.jpg - Map view showing no accessible points to these locations. (As best as I could) Fortunately there were no remaining monsters to be killed on this map. Perhaps these areas spawn without mobs spawning in them anyhow. But on the chance that they can and do spawn monsters, I thought I'd give it a report. This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

" Hey there, Thank for you the report! Anytime you find problems with a layout/area like this, please try to remember to use the /bug command, that way we get a report with the details, which helps us track this stuff down. Cheers! |

" I still have access to the map, would you like a bug report at both locations? -- Edit 3,919,723,322 - The top location 1,895,502,827 - The bottom location Last edited by Karix86#2722 on Oct 28, 2014, 11:40:11 PM

With bug report:
http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1094025 But honestly, It happens literally every 3rd map or so. I'm grinding lvl 89->90 pretty much on only 74 maps which means that I get a LOT of "Underground River" maps so I see this bug 'all day long'. |

map generation is randomly creating the full area from a selection of tile sets, from that pool of tile sets there are exceptions added so the won't spawn together or in a certain order which would result in stuff like this....the devs would have already added the obvious ones, the slightly less obvious ones and some random rarely occurring ones...if you give them the debug code like they ask you to then it's more exceptions they can add without spending tens or hundreds of man hours testing to try catch them all.
Rather than whine about it, just do the /debug or /bug take a screen shot and post it, it's not hard and it doesn't take long and save the devs a shit load of time which can be better used to further fix/develop the game. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

Thanks for semi backseat moderating me. You seem to to that more often I see.
"honestly" referred to the extreme frequency of that bug, not to the /bug command. Because I don't know why a ggg member just doesn't run that map a few times using some maphack to quickly filter out most of the bugs. Because there is no way that they 'filtered out most of them' for that specific map. Unless I got extremely unlucky with the RNG. But you are right I should not have mentioned that sentence. I think the actual fix the patch note refers to is fixing monsters being able to sometimes spawn in inaccessible locations, but not removing inaccessible locations themselves. I understand the partially revealed minimap can be confusing, but it will stay like this for now. The most important thing is that game elements can't spawn in them.
