You know, I just had the though, but did they get the design for this orb from the anime Berserk <_< I swear to god it reminds me of those last few episodes with that demon apocalypse going on.
And if you close your eyes, does it feel like your exalt almost hit this time~

I was like wait we finally get the end then realized the anime ended a while ago while I'm still waiting for the end of the manga godamnit...shit got really fucking weird they just need to end it.

Well, I remember that the anime was mentioned as a inspiration source in Reddit.
Makes sense, the monster design is pretty much Berserk-like at its best. Add a Forsaken Masters questline
