[3.0] NeverSink's ♣ INDEPTH Tornado&Archer Guide ♣ Beginner friendly ♣ Rapid clear ♣ All bosses

I am not sure anymore if i should follow this guide in the future. Neversink created a nice detailled guide for the past patches. Some weeks ago he updated it a bit for 3.0 but until now he ignores everything. The doomfletchers guide sounds really interesting but i already put too much currency in this one. Dont know if it was worth it. It is really frustrating when you follow a guide and like me baught with all your currency a bow like it is recommendet only to get to know some days later on a random forum page of the guide that your bow is bad and a cheaper one has more damage.

I think different bows will have it's own pros and cons. Some bows are great at shooting from long distance (Lioneye's Glare), and some shines tremendously at short distance (Chin Sol). A high crit harbinger bow is versatile at any distance, and gives a consistent overall damage. Judging a bow based purely on pDPS alone is not an accurate way of knowing which one is better than the other.

It all depends on your preferred choice of playstyle. We need to experiment on different bows and find out which one is better suited for ourselves.

As for me, i love playing glasscannon style. I dont mind dying all the time, as long as i can facetank and shoot the muth* fu*ka outta the boss in the shortest time possible...lol.... and that is why I use a Chin-sol as my preferred bow.

Don't be disappointed yet for spending 10ex on your harbinger bow. U may find yourself liking it better once u have tried out other bows and combinations :)

I'm on the same page i invested in the build in both Passive Tree and Gear but its not ready yet for 3.0 and we need to wait for NS to update it, however he is working on his Doomfletch now so i guess its gonna take a long time before he adjust the TS build for 3.0 since he has to write a big wall of text on the original post about it, the guide etc and then move back to TS.

In my opinion he should finalize the adjustments of an already existent build which would be faster too since he has ~92Lv Rangers already before he jumped on the Doomfletch, however it is his choice so we can't do much about it. In the end of the day he volunteers, its free.

Still tho it would be really nice to get a small announcement post about what direction is the TS gonna go, a placeholder until he comes back to finalize it.

improvement: for increase DPS

bow : get max rolled lioneye's its better than 400PDPS. (i have 410PDPS+80EDPS but lioneyes 350 beats it)
rings and amulet : get more flat dmg + criticals
belt : max p.dmg + high e.dmg
helm : enchanted with t/s 40% increase dmg or +2 secondary projectile
boots : crafted with +elemental damage and uber enchanted with +damage when hit or haven't killed , increase attack speed if youve killed, incease critical if havnt crit.
curse : elemental weakness is better you wont see the numbers in tooltip but on POB it will show you a huge difference between active elemental weakness againt assasins mark with +power charges on (still elementl weakness is far superior)
buff : get a blood rage good way for life leech, increase attack speed and freny charges
lastly your gem links: by far this is best 20%20lvl gems for loneyes+signal fire : t/s+ gmp+ e.dmg+ e.focus+ addedLightning/cold+ slowerProjectile (or download POB and see the links better for your gear selections)

@hekktorr
to get constitution im not taking the nodes going to revange of the haunted and vaal pact (im not fan of this node as i want regen)

but where is the math behind this statement? it states that the lioneye dmg is higher but i dont get how he comes to this conclusion. My harbinger with ~9-10% critchance does way less pdps than my lioneye, which i used before but it has higher dps overall with the huge increase in critchance. shouldnt a harbinger with higher dmg deal way more dmg than a lioneye? maybe the harbinger he used had a crappy critchance? (which is the most important stat on the bow). i just dont get it.
^^ if i could remember when i post my verdict to @diqq his asking which one is better a bow with 400 PDPS or Lioneyes? He didnt mentioned the crit on the bow so i expect the bow crit is somewhere lioneyes maybe 6-7 something like that i have a bow with 410PDPS+80EDPS with 7.2 crit (which i dont use because result in lioneyes in better.

if my bow is harbinger i would mention "harbinger" because harbinger crit is crazy OP but its thicket bow so i just said "bow". I only answers to specific question and i dont add extra. So if your going to add that harbinger crit then the lioneyes story will be different.
hey all,

i got a quick question sitting here with 3.3k life at 83 found a belly (already 6 sockets) and got 6 exalts ( sold a mirror shard)

my question is do i use my exalts to 6l that belly or should i safe on a kaoms heart? im playing build 1

my current chest is a tabula rasa :S

Hey guys I am kind of lost on what to upgrade at this point. My budget is around 13ex. I think I should be going for steel rings or a better amulet but at the same time Im worried about my resistences. There are also other people telling to upgrade to a doomfletch (assuming they are on that bandwagon) so I am just straight up confused at this point. If anyone can help out it would be great.
What panteon should i consider to use for tornado shot build?

Awesome guide, thanks.

The math can be tricky. The relative strength of the two bows is shifted with things like accuracy, added dmg on jewellery or gem links. There are two possible approaches to this.

First: Import the character in PoB. Try some hotfixes and swap out the weapon or a gem. The advantage of this approach is the ability to spot and correct some major mistakes/oversights. However...its not enough to decide whether bow A is better than B or not.

For this you have to put more work in and create some calibrated gear on PoB which is decent enough and does not favour a particular bow in a certain way. Just an example:

My jewellery looks like this:

Decent jewellery for doomfletch or this build but nothing crazy. Now let's say I want to compare some Harby with Lioneye's with this jewellery and some other gear --> "Lioneye's sucks, what is this guide??" Yeah but whats about the accuracy on those rings, that isn't a fair deal. With lioneye's you could get 2*16% inc global crit there instead - with a different result.

If you dig deeper you may discover that the steel ring is not the best base for this and create new sets of gear for the comparison or change the tree/gems. So PoB is not always that simple.

Well..ok..to your question why Lioneye's over your Bow?

1) Accuracy in crit builds. You have to roll accuracy twice for crit - thats a 0.81 multiplier to the crit chance assumming a 90% accuracy value.

2) crit multi nerfs

3) lioneye's is faster and benefits more from stacking flat dmg. Your bow has 1.2attack speed which is..bad.

Im playing doomfletch now so im not sure on this. But from what Im recalling Lioneyes was a bit better than a perfect T1% with multimod, given reasonable gear. And since ggg nerfed bow crafting with the new mods..

@juerk
Sounds that ypu know alot in the mechanics of poe. How do you feel about reach +4 with 350-360dps? I tried and its only good for skills using gmp as gmp wont be necessary but fail to deliver on skills like blast rain compare to lioneyes.
