If I added "added cold damage" support gem to Herald of Ice, would that do anything?

It would add damage to explosion (at 30% effectivness) and increase reserved mana

I dont think added damage applies to self buffs or auras that add damage (and stack with them). It only applies to the damage dealt by supported skills (in this case the explosion)

I have personally tested linking Herald of Ice with Added Cold Damage just so we can clear this myth up. Unsurprisingly, you don't get a nearly free Added Cold for all your other Skills. Who knew. (I did. Ludvator did. I feel dumber now)
