Vaal Support Gems
These three gems are not Vaal versions of existing support gems, but are gems which support only Vaal gems. They all have the same primary ability, but have different bonuses based on the quality of the gem.
Mana Cast Multiplier: 125% Gem Level Progression: 12, 15, 18, 21, etc Gem Effect: The linked Vaal gem of the appropriate color requires less souls per use. The bonus starts at 20% less souls needed at level 1, and increases 2.5% per level to 67.5% less souls required at level 20 (rounded down) Some examples: Vaal Spectral Throw would drop from needing 12 souls in Merc per use to 4 per use Vaal Ground Slam would drop from needing 64 soulds in Merc to 21 per use Vaal Spark would drop from needing 96 souls in Merc to 32 per use Strength Gem - Vaal's Might - Supports strength Vaal gems. Quality gives 1% physical damage to linked Vaal gem Intelligence Gem - Vaal's Mind - Supports Intelligence Vaal gems. Quality gives 1% cast speed to linked Vaal gem Dexterity Gem - Vaal's Wit - Supports Dexterity Vaal gems. Quality gives 1% attack speed to linked Vaal gem This thread has been automatically archived. Maybe even include the ability to have vaal support gems for normal gems.
Like a might aura that shoots off for a couple of seconds for every 20 enemies killed or so. Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.

That 67% would be way to strong and would be used on all vaal gems since it got really no downside.

" The values are relative, it's mainly that it has a reduction that is key. You get dimishing returns on 16-soul abilities compared to the 64-soul abilities, and I honestly don't know how many builds are based on the high-soul gems. |

A 67% soul reduction combined with increased duration would allow a lot of players to keep a vaal aura up most of the time. This could be way too strong if used with Vaal Haste because of its damage boost or Vaal Grace for the high survivability.

Sounds like ideal concept for a unique, on killing blow chance to gain an additional soul. No need for gems and extra math.

Ive seen builds around vaal molten shell and almost all melees use vaal cylone which are all high soul cost spells.

Totally agree. Vaal gems are useless to me because of the huge amount of souls they need. And every time you go through a portal it gets reset. When mapping I go back to town to sell stuff and it gets reset again, it just doesn't work. They also need more charges (like 3 or 4), and they need to stay charged, or give us a soul-flask to keep souls in, at least.
