auras: -Hatred -Clarity -Purity maybe haste anger wrath eager all on reduced mana basically its frenzy+ faster attack+ weap elem atk+ melee dmg +life on hit+ life steal I have 2 items with mana leech will this build work on merciless guys? claws are for extra atk speed because of life on hit i think i need to improve a bit it lacks base stats any ideas? This is relevant to my interests, as I intend to build dual claw duelist too. First thing I noticed in your build was the lack of int nodes, will it be possible to get the int for the stronger claws solely with gear?
I'm still quite lost on my plans. At first I got the impression BM would be interesting, but I gave up on it and now it's all quite of a mess. A sketch of my current 61 pt plan:

Im making a claw duelist myself atm and try to peek into the forums every now and then for suggestions to the build. I know that duelist have a hard time atm so making a claw duelist might actually be tricky at best before that Melee Love patch.
However I'm really surprised at the builds other claw duelists have. a LOT seem to build their way up to the shadow tree and pick the "Raker" skills. If you max out the Raker skills youll gain 4% life leech, but if you pick "Blood Drinker" and "Life Leech" near the marauder youll have 3% easily. Ive never seen a shadow going near the marauder for an extra 3% so i dont see why dueilsts are SOOO eager to get to the shadow tree to get their leech. So instead of moving into the shadow tree Im looking into utilizing the strenghts of the Duelist. -High chanse to block while dual wielding -High physical DPS with strenght -High Armor with Iron Reflexes -Higher HP with access to the marauder nodes and str nodes -Life %/sec regen nodes Im also a bit surprised that neither of you have specced Blood Magic. Main issue with claw/daggers is 0 access to AOE. All viable builds which use those weapons are lightning strike builds
Well that and the whole melee problem. - the realistic defence option is stacking TONS of HP, armor and endurance charges, Which means marauder tree IGN Nordes

My initial plan was to get BM, Blood Drinker and Berseking on the Marauder side and go all the way through Ranger to get advantage of the 3 Claw spots there, specially Rakers. It seemed silly not to go for the claw-specific nodes since my character would be based around claws only, but now I have to reconsider taking an approach closer to yours, making good use of the weapon-independent and dual-wield nodes closer to the Duelist. Still, the Ranger/Shadow path has those tasty +30 int nodes(2 or 3), while the Duel/Mara has only one really close. Can gear alone provide all the int necessary for the better claws without being too restrictive? " It was my initial intention, as I thought it converted at least part of your mana to HP. Then I read it better and decided the aura stacking path OP chose would work better(I'm trying to go as physical as possible with this toon, so it's not that mana intensive), and aura stacking doesn't always go well with BM. I still don't know. I think I'll keep rolling my non-BM duelist and when the claw AoE skills arrive I'll try them out and maybe roll a BM claw duelist too. Having scrapped BM earlier, I reworked my build dismissing entirely the Mara side and going heavy on the Ranger. The new 61pt plan looks like this:
