Using Quill Rain to trigger CoC with EK - feasible?

Thought I'd like to try something way different from my usual tank melee type.

Came up with a shadow using Quill Rain to give me fast attacks with a high crit chance, procing Cast on Crit with EK, LGOH, and some dmg support skills.

The build I came up with looks like it'll have poor health. I'm hoping it'll have enough damage from the machine gun crits to be feasible in a group.

Here's the build I came up with. Will it work? No CoC until Lvl 31, but I'm levelling it with my wife, so it doesn't have to be able to solo.

Your build itself looks good but you'd be happier with pretty much any other bow.

Every "Quill Rain" build I've seen is only functional with a Thief's Torment, and then you're out money and giving up a lot of stat slots to make it happen.

What's your wife playing? (Yay, more girls!)

If she does a tanky aura build, you don't have to worry as much about hit points.

My bf and I leveled together last league. You guys might have fun doing something like this. :)

Edit: Looking closer, you skipped both of the best crit nodes, Bloodthirst and Lethality. Do you specifically want to use Quill Rain or just looking for something new? There's a great wand CoC thread and spectral throw CoC thread on the first page of this forum too.

Check out wurpo's quill rain in the Scion thread to give you some ideas. Otherwise, that new bow that was found recently is probably gonna be the best bow to use as CoC, though is more expensive than standard quill rain build.

I've seen some people make it work, but the problem with using quill rain is the abysmally low base crit chance. You obviously can't roll crit on the weapon to increase it so 5 is always your base. With a copper dagger (available at level 25) you can already get up to 10 base crit chance on the weapon, and you can still roll attack speed on it, plus get 2 global crit implicit mods plus the 1.1 attack speed modifier if you dual wield.

I tried both, and though there are some really great bow crit nodes it just didn't seem like there was enough to make up for the 5% base chance even with the high attack speed. Maybe if you had daggers on switch for building power charges you could get it up enough to switch back and start using barrage, but in any case when I tried it the procs were nearly nonexistant comparatively.

As Feyith and the others said, if you insist on using a bow, there are bows with actually decent crit chance. Just, for the love of god, don't use that abomination. Every time someone plays a Quill Rain CoC build, a panda dies. Seriously.

The other feasible options are daggers + spectral throw (Welder and Frozen Dagger guides in the Shadow section) or wands (Wander Wanderer guide).
