Best Cold Witch EB/MoM route
I'm playing a Cold witch atm and there are a lack of guides that has updated to the latest passive tree. I've somewhat set my mind in using Life/EB/MoM as a main survival tool because it seemed like a good idea. I've never played the witch before so if there are any stronger survival tool that is obviously better please let me know. I've been fiddling with the tree and these are the final 3 that I thought were the most optimal. Please discuss about the following:
1. Is Life/EB/MoM still a good combination to be used with a cold witch? 2. Which passive tree is superior to the others? 3. Optimize the builds even further maintaining or improving upon the durability as priority with balanced damages. Crit route (the one I'm leaning towards) Cross-templar route (more spell dmg a lot less crit) Hybrid Temp/Crit route (most balanced) Any helpful comment is appreciated! If my builds suck let me know. Thank you all for reading and discuss away :) Last edited by kingkactuar#2411 on Mar 14, 2014, 11:15:59 PM

Shadow route. The other routes don't have enough crit left.
BTW to compare builds they should use the same amount of points. Shadow route has another advantage in that regard as it uses the least points. I can't comment on how viable EB/MoM is. I'm building an EB/MoM witch in ambush which is only at lvl 66 atm. The only thing i can say is don't expect to make any use of MoM before endgame. Building up a sufficient mana pool (mana reservation nodes, leveling reduced mana gem, getting good enough hybrid gear for EB) takes some time. You will need mana geysir. |

I can't comment because i don't know what EB/MoM is.
edit: looked it up. "eldritch battery" and "mind over matter". i don't understand you guys. you spend so many time writing an post and then you use abbreviations no newcomer can understand and which often have double meanings... offline Last edited by cronus#1461 on Mar 18, 2014, 10:24:16 AM

" Actually,.. no, I don't think so. It's not bad, but it could be better, and is needlessly complicated. You're moving all the way down just for MoM, with little else to pick up in that direction. You'll also end up with an excess of Dex., which is truly wasted on a pure caster. Why don't you go Chaos Innoculation? It's closer, you can combine it with Ghost Reaver and potentially Vaal Pact, which are also close, you'll have all your mana for skill, and you don't have to invest any points in life either. |

I think I'll echo what the other guy said - go with Shadow
I would go for something like this

Life is at 233%, 260% crit, 100% crit mult and some cold/spell damage You can either rush for MoM/Eldritch or take your sweet time with HP nodes and aim to take EB/MoM around level 60/70. I would personally do the latter in HC league and just level slowly. FP is quite a safe leveling ability. |

I like this idea -- partially because I have this strange setting of using intelligence based gear but life-based build. MoM is a perfect way to mitigate the lack of armour.
Looks like the DPS would a bit lower since we need to cross the tree...hmm :( Keep updates! |
