Oro´s Flicker Marauder

I recently found an Oro´s sacrifice and yesterday I managed to 6-link a Belly of the Beast. Ever since I found the Oro I wanted to make a build around it but I lacked a decent 5 or 6 link to take fully advantage of the Item. The planned skill combinations are: Main Attack (AoE): Flicker Strike + Fire Pen + Incrteased Burning damage (20%) + chance to ignite + Elemental Proliferation + Weapon Elemental Damage Single Attack (If Flicker on Cool down or whatever): Heavy Strike + Life Leech + Weapon Elemental Damage + Increased Burning Mobility: Leap Slam + faster attacks + life leech Cast when damage taken: Enduring cry + Enfeeble + Flamability Auras: Anger + Clarity + Discipline + reduced mana Misc: Arctic Armour, Flamability The Plan is to reach a maximum of ignite chance (83% - 20 Oro - 13 Flamability - 10 Inc Burnning - 40 chance to ignite), flicker into a mobpack, keep flickering since every burn proc gives a frenzy charge I can expend that to keep flickering. The "ubermobility" provided by the playstyle should help with the lack of life sustain aka life leech... I´m plan on using dual curses (flamability is a mus but with oro´s higher damage incoming I defenitly need enfeeble...) Here is a skilltree I came up with: Basically going for Life, Aura nodes, Fire and Burn damage, EB, RT and Dual curse. The Dex nodes are only in because the gear I got stashed wont have enough dex on it. The Gear I´m planning to use right now would be something like this: Belt and Amulet are the worst atm, but the gear will nevertheless net me 77% to all elemental resistances, 3764 life and 1374 mana (280 after reserving). Life is pretty low but thats a thing to enhance as an ongoing project. My biggest problem with the idea right now is the integration of artic armour. at lvl 16 it will consume 31 mana/sec (countered by about 90 mana per sec, leaving me with about 60 mana regen per second while not moving) and 190 mana per sec while moving... so after 2 secs moving it will probably turn off... So question of the evening: If I only move with flicker and leap slam, can I sustain artic armour? The mana cost of Flicker strike (even 6linked) should be managed by my regen. Seccond bigegst question of the evening: What do you think damage wise? I roughly calculated about 2800 damage per hit netting a meager 6800 total damage after 4 secs. (I didnt factor resistances in, basically assumed they are 0 because of flamability and penetration). So, calculations absolutely wrong? or is this teh best I can expect? Common ladies and gentlemen! Opinions, experience criticism welcome!
I´m leaving work for today and gonna start leveling a Marauder asap... You got the chance to keep me from making a terrible mistake here (If the planned build is crap actually). Has anyone tried a similar or comparable build? Someone with tips on keeping Artic Armour running and wehter flickering/leaping counts as moving? Guess I´ll find out and be back to write about the awesome fail of this build than^^ regards |

There are a lot of issue with your build sadly. I have been working on an oros flicker build myself but its CI and starts as templar. You don't have anywhere near enough life on your build, remember oros makes you take more damage.

For curses I suggest you run Doedre's Damning ring. Elemental prolif is largely redundant as proliferated burns dont give additional charges and the damage is low enough that you will have to flicker onto the mob anyway. As you are life id suggest running multistrike to give you much better charge retention as you cant use blood rage easily. So Flicker strike - multistrike - weapon elemental damage - life leech - chance to ignite - increased burning damage Auras should be anger/grace/clarity. Bandits - oak, kill, oak Also there is no reason to run arctic armour, it wont reduce damage by enough to matter and it wont really help vs reflect. On my last character I felt that artic armor drasticaly reduced damage from fast attacking/casting mobs like tentacle bitches etc... because their base damage isnt what kills you but the ticks... But youre right, I can safely drop EB and AA and will have much less mana strains. The idea to use multistrike and be super perma flickering sounds awesome. I wanted to initially avoid multistrike for the heavy damage reduction but it fits the build better I think. Also the integration of life leech is good. (that will be like 5,7k HP with my shitty gear... and like 313 life/sec) Questions: 1. Why do you suggest blood rage? For Frenzy charge upkeep? (Also just read that blood rage jsut leeches on physical attack damgae...) 2. Without aura nodes anger and grace will take up like 91% of my mana, how do you suggest that I can sustain my mana pool? 3. Is the mitigation provided by grace & Iron reflexes so noticable that it is worth taking? ... would`t it be ok to run just grace drop off IR and US and profit from evasion also the enfeeble would work better in that case. 4. also, Fire pen... I think this gives quite the damage boost concidering all the elemental damage in the game... but I wouldnt now what to drop off for it... anyway thanks for the feedback! " 1 i think the strength of this build is not having to use bloodrage. also you don´t deal phys dmg. so you don´t leech either. 2 aura nodes can be very powerful. if they fit in your tree, then take them. mana mangement is very personal. i prefer leech, where others prefer flasking. 3 yes you can just go full evasion, if your hp is high enough to take dmg spikes. 4fire pen is better than burn dmg imho. |
