Shadow CI Blood Rage/Flicker/Whirling Blades/Reave TEST PLEASE
OK, so take 2 on my theorycrafting for a main class.
Obviously I want to use a one-handed weapon. Is using a mage's shield and a dagger way too radical (to avoid movement penalties of a shield)? Do flicker and reave count as "spell damage"? Is this a good build for the intention? I want to be able to play this solo (not hardcore). Any weapon/gearing suggestions? Pointers for the passives? Is this build viable? Does it need VP? EDIT: This is my rethought build, took less health nodes on the way to CI, took off dagger nodes so I can use any 1 hand. Ventured into some Scion nodes instead of witch nodes. Tried to minimize unnecessary paths. AND A BIG IF, should it have or not have acrobatics with the 50% decreased energy shield? Last edited by HeroicHedghog#1049 on Feb 24, 2014, 12:28:51 AM

" A pretty good build that has been used by lots of shadows (I've dabbled in this a bit myself). Definitely not for hardcore, but probably the funnest build to play in standard. Some issues with this one: You took both acrobatics and CI. ES is your only source of life for a CI character, and acrobatics cuts ES in half. Acrobatics is designed to be used for life-based evasion characters. Generally, you have to either pick CI or pick acrobatics, and never both. That aside, I think most people do this build as CI so I'd drop acrobatics and remove your evasion nodes and put more points into ES nodes instead. Also you do have 3 points in random life nodes at the bottom of the tree. As for the shield, it's pretty common I believe for these builds to roll with a "wizard shield" in the offhand, so that's good. If you want to do this build, there's a few somewhere on these shadow forums to give you some ideas. You basically want to take CI and GR and Vaal Pact and then take damage and ES nodes. Pretty close to what you already have, minus the evasion stuff. Do that and I think you'll be on the start to a good build, and great fun, just be aware this build requires good gear so you may have to grind a bit here and there to acquire it. my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes ----- Bug Fixes: People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it. Last edited by Legatus1982#1658 on Feb 24, 2014, 3:14:23 AM

Thanks for the input. I was a little worried about the Acrobatics, but was wondering if it was doable. I also thought I got all the life nodes off of it; I guess not.
Also I was wondering if Pain Attunement applies to any of the skills I plan to use? Does it need VP to be effective? Should I keep Ondar's if I drop Acrobatics and evasion? Here is rework without Pain Attunement and without Ondar's, but with VP. Did a little more min/maxing.
