Help me improve my survivability please!
Hey guys ill start by saying this is my first ever character on Path of exile. I did not follow any build or anything which i've been told is very risky, which i have now realised. Im loving this character and its only started to be problematic since the final difficulty act 3... I think i have decent gear but for some reason when it comes to certain mobs i just cant tank the hits.
This is my equiptment, i have a fairly good dps with over 6k armour and 77% on all resistances, although i feel my health pool could be better standing at 2.3k at the min. In 9 more levels i could have an 72% life from skill points. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgEAAdwB5wUtCZYLKBLZFCAZLho-GlUbRRvIIQIhVScgJ-0pLimlNPI2ujboOQ46UjwtPfxDMUSyTipQR1BQVElVtVcNWGNeE18_YEthIWSjbpdyqXTtdu5673uMfLh82YTvh2qMz46_kGyezZ_LpBmnMKkaqXO2Qbc-ud3BBMRYxPbGrsbY0iHZYeLq51LnY-sJ7w7xrPIv8pzz3fZI9zL3vvyJ_go= Here is my skill tree. Any help / armour suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I love this character and hope that i will not have to start again. I would love to be able to solo a few level 60 maps with him. If you can help thankyou so much :) |

Hello,
That's the problem, you don't have enough life in your skill tree. 1st connect to Resolute Technique by the upper side for one point, then refund the whole Purity of essence cluster and the three 2h weapons below as well as the 10 str point. You will save 7 points and have this. Then you can safely spend these points in the scion circle of life. Take the 12% on the left, go to path of the warrior on the right and spend the rest in 8% life nodes. And spend your next levels to finish this circle. Also the damage nodes around Butchery are not really worth the cost. You'd better go for huge axe nodes around the duelist area. Here is what I would have done, more or less: On your links: why do you have two curses in your helm? It's useless as you can only launch one and warlord's mark is the most useful though I think enfeeble will be even better. I prefer to cast WM by hand. And put an enduring cry instead of punishment, it will increase your survivability, especially if you take some endurance charges. You should 4L your weapon and put your AOE here, so that you can put life leech instead of melee splash on heavy strike. This will also help your survivability. You can try infernal blow, melee splash, life leech or life gained on hit, multi-strike for the AOE. You should also use a decoy totem or a skele totem (spell totem, summon skeleton). It's very useful when you're a bit overwhelmed. Ranger builds list: /917964 When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch? If the witches watching watches watch the same watch while you watch which witch watches which watch, they switch watches; then, the watch switching witches watch which watch you watch. Watching witches watch watches is not for the faint of heart... Last edited by Panini_aux_olives#1967 on Jan 20, 2014, 9:56:09 AM

I agree with the poster above. I have half your resists and armor but I can survive just fine. Life leech (or Life on Hit when you have high attack speed) really does wonders for your survivability. Enduring cry and Molten Shell also help in reducing that pesky burst damage from archers etc. Also, life nodes. I'm currently lvl 62 and I only have a few damage nodes that I picked up along the way. Everything else has gone in to survivability. Pick a few more life nodes and see your survivability magically increase by a huge margin :)
