2h Blood magic / Lifesteal / High armor / HP
First of, i kinda like PoE but the melee classes in general seemed very weak in comparison to the ranged and totem classes as far as i can tell from streams etc. I dont have acces to Beta yet but for OB i thought of using the following build.
Skills
auras: grace, haste, determination
main attack for white mob grps: flicker strike main attack for blue champpacks: sweep main attack for rares and bosses: double strike temporarys: warlords mark, decoy totem, blood rage, enduring cry, phase run
Linksetup
linked as follows:
6 socket 6 link chest/2h weapon 3 red 3 green = flicker strike + double strike + sweep + increased melee dmg + faster attacks + added fire dmg 6 socket 5 link chest/2h weapon 3 red 2 green (1 green out of link) 1 blue = enduring cry + decoy totem + increased duration + increased area of effect + phase run, blood rage 3 socket 3 link boots/gloves/helmet 2 red 1 blue = spell totem + warlords mark + increased area of effect 4 socket 4 link boots/gloves/helmet 2 red 2 green = grace + haste + determination + reduced manacost I really would like to get your opinions about this build and its viability. €dit: 82 views and not a single comment? come on guys :/ need some tips and critique from players who actually played the game so i can know if i have to think up a different build. I think the build would work, you definitely get enough hp from it together with some gear.
For more dps, you might want to get those nodes that affect physical damage for dual wielding. As for the skills, do those auras use %mana? If so, this will reduce your hp drastically, and I would think about that again. I am doing a blood magic build, and I use no auras if they take of % of my life. Flicker strike is sure a good skill, apart from that I don't know much about melee skills, somebody else got to help you there. |

Keystones seem way messed up, you picked up all the life regen nodes then picked Vaal Pact? Also, Leather and Steel Nodes don't give a bonus to both evasion and armor from what I've heard, so I'd skip out on those near Unwavering Stance. Lastly, be careful about Blood Magic if you want to use auras, since it will reserve your health instead of your mana at that point.

Hi
If you stack enough life you won't need unwavering stance because your stun/damage threshold will be high. I have a 2h axe duelist that is close to what you are attempting. The axe nodes around duelist are great for stacking dam, acc, and speed. Don't get vaals pact, only leech no regen make duelist sad character. I found that vaals pact is great but requires a very specialized build to get the most out of it(CI+GR+VP). If you use enduring cry and blood rage for your defense/offense you can make a very flexible tank that with the frenzy charges and flicker can always get out of a tight jam or always be where you want your character most. If you need to get defensive nodes go for straight evasion nodes as opposed to hybrid ev/armour with IR the %'s stack differently with armour and evasion even with IR. I used IR and it did apply both benefits from evasion and armor. Perhaps it did not apply a total of 16% that might be, but it did give me enough armor anyways... I am up to 6k armor with not focusing on armor or evasion on my gear... Seems enough to me, but perhaps I am wrong, might be.
