Yeah that's not de-sync, that's straight up your terrible internet, you can tell by the amount of time it's taking you to type messages that you've got 300+ ping, not the games fault.
Sure thing buddy.

PoE, on the other hand, seems custom tailored to make desync as bad as possible. All sorts of shit on the ground that you have to navigate. Long, narrow hallways. And a shit ton of maps that are literal mazes. With all the complaints about desync, I thought for sure we’d see better planned areas in the new content, but no. It’s even worse than before. They made labyrinthine gardens that really do seem like they were designed to showcase just how bad desync can be.

Don't forget adding monsters with animation based movement known to cause significant issues. (those jumpers seem to be in the wrong position 50% of the time...)

I assume they either don't particularly care or they think one day they're going to magically come across some one shot solution.

Logically, I know GGG must care. Anecdotal evidence (forum posts, self/friend experiences) show that desync is a major issue that has driven off or scared away a large number of people. And that’s got to be important to them. But all we’ve gotten is what amounts to a giant excuse post (Edit: Where the hell did the manifesto go? Did they take it down?) that can be summed up with, “Well, we’re different.”

Are they hoping it will just go away? Maybe the plan is to just let the people who can’t handle it go and keep the ones who stay. That seems incredibly stupid. But maybe they have some data that shows most people don’t care about the desync?

I don’t know. Logically, I can’t rationalize how big of an issue desync seems to be with GGG putting out patch after patch without addressing it in the slightest.

If I didn’t know it would devolve into retardedness, it would be interesting to start a poll with something like, “How much does desync bug you?” and give the “a lot, a little, none” options. Maybe most people just don’t care.

Desync is not a simple problem, nor can it be entirely solved ever with the current choice in game-play mechanics. Desync derives directly from the twitch system of movement (being able to dodge an attack as it happens). This is the direct cause of desync (and why games like D3 dont have the problem) it is VERY complex code to handle it. I assure you that they are working on it diligently, but there wont suddenly be a magic bullet that removes it. Furthermore, they made a TON of progress with desync since closed beta. There where places/mechanics that were almost unplayable during early closed beta due to desync.
That is one hell of a map man. Sucks that you died to desync, but mad props for running it.

Well, you can be sure that they aren't happy with it. But it is what it is. They chose to have this kind of client/server structure in place and we have to live with it. It's either a tiny bit of desync or a very easy way to maphack and other stuff.

One thing I really don’t understand is why GGG doesn’t use terrain (or more specifically, a lack thereof) to help with desync.

You look at D3 and it’s got mostly wide open spaces. Very little ground clutter (most all of it breakable or relegated to corners) and maps that are very desync friendly. Sure it’s got a few indoors maps that have hallways and doorways, but those areas also have plenty of big rooms.

That is what I wonder as well. Try playing a whirling blades char. Everytime your whirling blades hits an obstacle you get desynch. It is so amazing that while thing work like that maps have so many clutter and obstacles with narrow passages.
Wait I must be a huge noob....
How is he crafting without reclicking the alts and shit each time?
The game does not adapt to you, you adapt to it.

If you played hardcore, at first place you wont do maps this dangerous

per se you should not care about dying. At the end, it is your own fault doing this kind of maps. I guess, thats what softcore players die, you belong there imo :)
Not sure if this guy is a known troll or just ... stupid ? :(

I'm not even sure what he's trying to say.

I'm going with stupid.

Sorry i understood you are a girl (previous threads) maybe thats why is hard for you to understand it :(

But i could give you another chance on understanding.

Hardcore player: Doesnt do maps where he can get 1 shotted.
Softcore player: Does what ever he wants (doesnt matter dying at all)
